Andy Miller just put out the Wu’s newsletter and the reunion is on for 2006. It’s going to be memorial day weekend as always at the exact same time summercamp will be going on…People must make their own decisons on how sweet they like their camping expieriences to be…Most folks now that camping at Harmony Park is some of the best camping around the U.S. when it comes to festivals…Ummmmm I just can’t wait… Here’s the link for the newsletter if this is something for you:
The past few times I’ve seen wu, the shows have gotten worse and worse. They seem to have lost the passion for it, and are just going through the motions to make a living. I saw alot of frustration from the bass player on stage the last time I saw them in Fargo. Its pretty good music, but the jamming just seems to be alot of noise most of the time. I do like to pop in that album “Buffalo in the Bathtub” or whatever its called once in a while.
Anyone see when they were the band on The Carson Daly show for a week—totally lame
yeah, they’ve lost a step, that cannot be disputed…but people don’t go to the Reunion for the Wu shows as much as just the Harmony Park experience/family, not to mention they get GREAT acts every year…can’t beat it. HarvestFest (by Wookie Foot) is just as good, if not better…
^ agreed, they have lost some interest. Too bad, but we know why…Hard to replace a great leader and guitarist…
Reunion will rock…Trust me!
From the Wu Newsletter:
Besides our little group, Tea Leaf Green, Hackensaw Boys, Grace Porter, All Mighty Senators, Fat Ma Rooney, God Johnson, New Monsoon, Mr. Blotto and so many more are ready to play. And as we promised, tickets are cheaper than last year- Same bang, less buck.
line-up looking GOOD already…can’t wait for more additions. although i might be missing a day or two of the weekend this year, but i’ll be there for Sunday for sure…bummer.
Hackensaw Boys are awesome! I got my first taste of them last week, and they did not dissapoint.
for sure, i dig them. and i think that’s supposed to be Grace POTTER and the Nocturnals in that line-up. not Porter. just a guess though…
^I would gamble you are correct Tube…You going???
i will be there for part of the weekend at least. my band still has an outside chance of at least playing the thursday night pre-party, which would be SWEET!!! but my girlfriend’s brother’s graduation is that saturday, around Appleton, WI, and being the stand-up guy that i am, i said i’d go along. (sidenote: her family LOVES me and her grandparents have been pushing to meet me for awhile, HUGE points if i go)
but her and i are pretty ticked about all this (harmony park is OUR place), especially after seeing that line-up. so we’ll most likely make it to thursday, friday and sunday. something like that…
You hit the main point Brad…The reunion isn’t so much about the Big Wu’s music…It’s the scene that they bring and the most fabulous people that come to Harmony to support a great park and memorable times…It feels so so much like family there it’s incredible.
this line-up is pretty impressive now. i like it.
you’ve got that right brad. This is going to be one heck of reunion for some sweet talent. That’s a little different this year w/ the Big Wu headlining Friday and Sunday instead of Sat. and Sun. I bet there going to party their ass off on Sat. This will be an awesome event for a really fair price in my opinion…If some of you have never been to Harmony Park or even never heard of it, I strongly suggest thinking about attending…This will be an amazing time at harmony…I’ve got the festi fever sooo bad right now.
^ i had that same fever too about a week ago, when it was 50 and sunny here. since then, we’ve gotten about 1.5 feet of snow. BLAH!!!
harmony is the best camping/festival experience in the country…hands down.
Agreed, been there a few times and always enjoy the scene. Very chil very fun and the Music tops it off…No Fancy though?..DAMN…
I like the late night tent jams, they tend to ROCK… Might be there all weekend…
unfortunately, this is the same weekend as summercamp, so i’ll be heading to that instead. the lineups are somewhat similar though. it seems like a lot of oh kee pah’ers are going to the reunion. i was hoping to meet a few at scamp.
We will be at 10klf too…Fat Tire fer ya if you go…
I promise…
I give this festival more up’s every year then i do about any other festival…It’s the vibes, camping, music and some of the greatest times life has to offer at this park. Harmony Park is amazing…Hopefully this year proves to be as good as others.
^ it will, I know it…Always fun and jammin…
gotta say again…hot lineup given this festival’s size…max. cap. at right around 2000 peeps, makes for delightful festivals. If you haven’t heard the All Mighty Senators yet, check them out somehow…there a super fun band…cheers to the power generators.
