Binghamton

what made this place so special??? three epic shows…

I’ve been listening to this show today and my god this is a monster. Great, energetic playing all around…one of those shows where they are really playing together as a “team” nicely…Magilla opener is unexpected and wow this is great placement for Tela. Lots of Little Drummer Boy teases in the second set too…a tribute to Fish I assume.

04-09-94 Broome County Arena, Binghamton, NY

1: Magilla, Wilson, Rift, Bathtub Gin, Nellie Cane, Julius, Fee, All Things Reconsidered, Stash, The Squirming Coil

2: Sample in a Jar, Reba, Peaches en Regalia-> Big Ball Jam, Demand*-> Mike’s Song-> I Am Hydrogen-> Weekapaug Groove, Tela-> Slave to the Traffic Light, Cavern

E: Amazing Grace, Highway to Hell

and this is pretty much THE show I think about when I think about '92 for some reason. Not like I’ve heard them all but this one stands out the most…great stuff.

03-20-92 The Forum, Binghamton, NY

1: Wilson, Reba, Brother, Glide, Rift, Fluffhead, Maze, Lizards, Mound, Run Like an Antelope

2: Mike’s Song-> I Am Hydrogen-> Weekapaug Groove, Sanity, The Sloth, The Mango Song, Cavern, Uncle Pen, Harry Hood, Terrapin*, Possum

E: Lawn Boy, Fire

*Between songs, Trey explained the “Secret Language”.

and then of course there’s the legendary 12.14.95, probably my favorite of the LIVEPHISH series and definitely one of the shows that got me hooked.

I know aug was there in '95 but was anyone else at any of these shows? anybody else notice how Binghamton was just one of those special places for Phish?

great thread - I was at 4/9/94 and have been singing its praises since. We drove about 5 hours from college in Providence on a Saturday night. The arena was small and old, but it was general admission and they had no real security. Hoist had just come out which was the only exposure some of our group had at that time. You can imagine the look on their face by the end of Julius. This Reba gets my vote as the best ever (by far) and the Tela is brilliantly placed. Not to mention the Slave. I put this show in my top 5 of about 85 attended.

nice^. Yeah another thing with this show is there really aren’t any big jams or jams that stray from the norm, but all of the usual jams within songs are played so ragingly (whoa thats a word I think!)

especially Julius and Slave and Mike’s Song

and Reba

Welcome to Spring '94.
