…and here is my quick review.
There must have been something in the air that night because I was feelin the beats right away. i've recently learned that different frequencies and beats can reach you on higher levels that you don't even know about, and i wasn't even drunk or high yet.
The second set was an out and out dance party it was fucking awesome, i looked around and pretty much everybody was rockin out, even the people on the 1st mezz (where there are seats) were standing up and shakin about.
Then for the encore, the busted out the end of November rain and it was really awesome!!! amazing show, sorry you didn’t get to make it, Sloth, but at least you had fun last night!
(look for my other review of the Dark Star Orchestra show from last night…which was fuckin awesome and they played an original set)
good show, i was a tad dissapointed w/ all the trance/spaceness that was happening, i guess i wasnt really expecting that having only really listened to uncivilized area a lot, unfortunately i had to split to catch a train after the 2nd set opener. and man would i have loved to hear MEMPHIS! i did get perfume yesterday and thought it sounded good, but i dunno, i still found a few points werhe i just wasnt feeling the mm-tssss mm-tssss mm-tssss.
it was good though. seein sloth was fun, and i did enjoy the pink floyd cover.
but so that pink floyd cover:
echos is kinda a spacey song as it is, w/ the pinkfloydesque verses slammed thorughout, but so it was a spacey part of the song and no drums even. well the lights were goin crazy and then teh went really low. so its this spacey muddle of noise that everyone is totaly lsot in and then we see the house lights come on and the band is gone. and its like nobody even saw them leave, at least i didnt. anyway this spacey loop played through the entire set break, and then wehn tehy came back on they finished the song. i personally thought that was pretty cool.
so over all: good show, got to chill w/ some friends and meet up w/ an OKP’er, and i was diggin the music for most of it.
unfortunately i had to split to catch a train after the 2nd set opener.
the story of my life! ive missed quite a few last songs due to this problem.
damn those Bisco light shows are fuckin awesome!! I was pretty entranced by them, so awesome!! is CK5 that good?
ah the lights were freakin sweet
i hope CK5 is that good, i hope Chris is better
those biscuits lights were pretty sweet, especially during some of hte more spacey sections of the floyd cover where people were hearing this powerful swirl of sounds and the lights were like takin me to mars!
but chris takes the cake, IMO, having seen phish once and trey this summer w/ CK5 on the lightboard.
with him he’s just so right on time, and amazing w/ improving lights, w/ all the stuff he does, and maybe some of it is his inventory, cuz he has some pretty sweet lights and effects that he can throw in.
also the composed lighting for the phish songs are soo tight
i haven’t usually been aware of the crazy light shows at shows until I saw Bisco last new years, i dont know man, somethin about the way they move. ive only seen Phish once, but I guess it counts as more since it was a whole weekend…Coventry… but i was too far away to really watch what was goin on with the lights
