Bonnaroo '07

Oh yeah, forgot GRAB was the secret band last year.

Mike Gordon owns the Bonnaroo Superjam.

I have a buddy who attended last year (and this year) and said the Superjam was fucking sick. And he doesn’t even like Phish and hates hippies.

Holy shit.

Jesus H. I don’t even like Zepplin, but that show looks pretty ridiculous.

how do you not like Led Zeppelin!!!

you’re banned.

meh…zepplin is aight.

He’s the kind of guy that listens to music no one has ever heard of. Real obscure stuff. Shuns radio. I guess he think the less people have heard of a band, the better that band is.

Sound familiar anyone?

sometimes I am like this, well just with DMB and I guess not much else these days. But why do we hate it so much when bands get so big? shouldn’t we kinda be happy for them? lately i’ve been judgemental about a lot of crap and it needs to stop!

^I don’t think its the size of the DMB crowd that sucks, its the people in it. We worry about bands we love getting big because big music is all shit today.

Yeah, that Mule first set was the best first set of the weekend, I think. More later…

Umm, John Paul Jones?

Nice …

SCI was probably the best time I had all weekend. I might even be going to Horning’s now.

::dodges tomatoes::

Ween was freaking great too.

The “jazz” tent was such a disappointment. The only way to get into that tiny place was to get in line 2 hours early. So, no Stanton Moore, no Medeski and Martin, no nuthin’

You’re really thinking of going to Hornings? If you can get tickets I’ll come with ya. I streamed that String Cheese set and it was money for sure. I’m glad you checked out Ween too, lucky bastard. Post more memories, stories, reviews, etc.

^Its just a matter of me finding a ticket. I have a friend going so I have a ride already. And there is a small chance she has a ticket for me.

If I can get a ticket I will make it happen for sure. The week right after 10k. mmmmm Oregon.

Dammit, I’m going out to BC that week anyway to spend some time with my family. Not that I would have been able to find a ticket anyway. I might be checking out ALO in Victoria at the end of July so that should be an alright capo to 10KLF and my summer musical adventure.

Widespread and Ratdog on Sunday were both pretty good. I only lasted for half of Ratdog…Sunday was freaking really hot. I was glad to see Hell in a Bucket though. Went back to camp to cool off before Widespread. Widespread was kind of disappointing, although I finally got my first Driving Song after about 15 shows. I was just hoping for guests up there with them…I was at the '05 Bonnaroo Panic show with Herbie, Colonel, and Bobby Weir…so I was hoping for something similar to that.

My biggest disappointment was not seeing Galactic on Saturday late night. I was just too fucked up and tired to make the walk down again. That was a huge disappointment…we AGAIN camped in the far corner of the farm…35 minute walk with no shade. Saturday was fun though with Ween and the Police.

I don’t know what the deal was with SCI on Friday…the show just hit the spot perfectly for me…I was a tad dosed. When Keller came out towards the end of set 1, they busted into some crazy sections…jamming that I’d never heard from SCI before…Had such a damn good time. Even the set break was sweet…DSOTM was the house music…again, it hit the spot.

I was thinking about how good of a time I had a that show on Sunday while at the Panic show…and I made a spur of the moment decision to try my hardest to get to Horning’s. I’m so determined now that not making it would really kill me.

I just dragged my weary shit ass back from bonnaroo today and I feel terrible. Had a great time, but exhausted. More later w/ pics.

^Wow, you stayed until today, crazy. I left Monday. I got lung-sick from all the dust on Sunday, and haven’t stopped coughing since. I almost passed out during Mule on Saturday, and then again on Sunday at Panic just because all the dust was so bad. I haven’t smoked a bowl since sunday night. Maybe only ne whole cigarette too. It really sucks.

Hank, why the shit are you dodging tomatoes. Fuck those tomatoes. SCI was BY FAR the best show of the weekend. Crazy jamming, smiling faces, good doses… The band was having so much fun up there. I was pretty damn close, so I could see all of their antics and smiles. Billy was crackin’ me up. Little Hands is all I have to say. maybe even Way Back Home… Geez it was sooooo good. Did anyone see the big long yellow and black arms with big white glove-hands and a blue checkered hat? That was me.

Hey Hank, get me a friggin’ ticket to Hornings!!! I’ve already started a thread about it in ISO. Please help if you find extras. By the way, I left you a voicemail on Thursday night trying to meet up. oh well, that place is hard as fuck to meet up with anyone. i didn’t get to see brady either.

I saw all of Ratdog. Very good show. Someone fed me dose before it. Tripping acid in the scalding sun is fun, but a little too fucking intense. But I stayed for the whole thing. Then I ate more afterwards for Panic. Panic was definitely NOT a dissapointment. I mean, sure, I would have liked guests, but shit, c’mon it was a good damn set. Jimmy Herring was tearing it up, along with Schools. Fuckin’ a! The encore was a little weak, though.

Good fucking time, it was. Besides the fact that I came back to camp spun-faced after Cheese and my cooler with all my water and whiskey was gone…

BUNK!

^hmm I never got that voicemail…my phone is completely fucked.

oh well.

I was really close at SCI too…about the equivalent of 15-20 rows back, on the left side.

Those lights…damn those lights were seck.
