Bonnaroo '07

^^ I only streamed the show, I definately didn’t get to experience it full throttle, but the Panic Encore was awesome. First ever Crippled Inside, followed by the Talking Heads classic Heaven, then closing out with a rip-roaring Action Man…you didn’t like that?

I don’t think I remember them playing heaven for some reason. The crippled inside was VERYY beautiful, but I think they should have played it earlier in the set. Action Man, well, is great, and I love it, but they ALWAYS play it. I’ve heard a live action man about 6 times. It was just a little weak. I guess I was just biassed because I during the very short drums early in the set, sunny busted out the whistle, and they played a groove that I thought was going into Coconut. I really wanted to hear Coconut for the encore, especially since I’ve never heard them play it. I also was calling a Pigeons closer, so Action Man rubbed me the wrong way.

Chainsaw City was the shit!!

I called Space Wrangler, which was cool. I love that song.

I also called the Mule No Quarter right before they played it. Everyone around me was like “how the fuck did you know?”

I mean, all you had to do was put two and two together. Mule likes to play No Quarter, and they played it in '04 at 'Roo. JPJ was on the keys, and he even played the first chord to the song about 1 minute before they actually started playing it, and, I’m just that fucking good… haha

I mean, it just made sense, and it happened, and it was beautiful.

I always liked those perfect calls.

ooooooh and i was very happy when panic played “don’t wanna lose you”

No, I left on Monday, spent the night in Nashville and flew home on Tuesday and slept until Wednesday. Me brain is just starting to function normally again. I haven’t looked at them yet but I think I have some good pics we’ll see.
How 'bout that Police show?

barfs

Are me and Stuart Copeland the only ones that hate the Police?

I heard it from camp. It sucked ass.

Where’s jawbone? Did he get lost on the way back from the 'roo?

Well I wouldn’t say The Police sucked ass, that was the night before when Tool played, but it looked to me like the Police had at least 70,000 Bonnarooer’s rockin’ on their feet for 2 hrs. I thought they sounded great for a reunion show and a show that was “the Stuart Show” as Sting put it. They atleast tried to jam and thought they did a pretty good job for some old non-jammy dudes. I also think it was by far and away the most people I’ve ever seen at What Stage. It wasn’t my cup of tea, but it was fun and it looked like Stu was having a blast playing and running around.

Why go all the way to Bonnaroo to sit at a camp and miss shows especially when no one else was even playing at that time and then complain about them later? What could that possibly prove other than the obvious?

How do you size pics to get the best results when posting them on here?

Well, I like to save energy and get a little fucked up while there are bands playing that I don’t like, so I have enough energy to go see what I do like, such as Gov’t Mule right after that. Headliners such as Radiohead and The Police are perfect for doing exactly this. Why the hell would I go see someone I have no desire to see whatsoever. I have a hard enough time seeing many of the bands I do want to see.

I could hear them from camp anyways. I’m not complaining, because I wasn’t expecting any better. I thought they sucked, and always have, IN MY OPINION! That’s all I was expressing.

Fuckin’ A right I happen to love having a little time to sit at camp. Most of the time I’m out walking around visiting all the friends I have spread out everywhere (there are always bunches of kids from Knoxville), looking for fun things to buy, and most importantly, seeing shows that I DO like…

I’m not trying to prove a god damn thing.

Oh, and GR, Jaw’s in Orlando visting his bro.

fair enough.

This exact post will take place in 10 years on another board by another fan when Phish gets back together.

You really think a fan would say that?

Especially since Stuart Copeland’s not in the band, Phish…

Phuck!

God damn, that looks hot.

Good pictures…now where are you hiding Jawbone?

Ahhhhh the smoke-ring jellyfish are so cool. I cheered everytime I saw one go up. They were more appropriate this year than last, and much appreciated. Look at that fucking dust everybody! I’m still hacking my lungs. I think I have walking pnumonia (sp?)

hey gang!

just got back to Ft Lauderdale (visited some family upstate for the past week) and boy did i have a swell time at Bonnaroo this year. I don’t have much time now but i’ll surely be back with a big ole post of stories, reviews and pictures from my weekend!

sucks i didn’t get to hang out with any of ya’ll, i was mighty busy all weekend as i’m sure you were. Though i think i saw an OKP Lounge T-shirt in the crowd during Manu Chao but by the time i realized what it was i didn’t see it anymore. It was a green one…worn by a fairly tall dude with what i think was a cowboy hat. I’m not sure if i actually saw that or not but if i did; sorry i didn’t follow whereever you went i guess. Is it just the lack of sleep, road lag and hunger or is that spelling of whereever seem right but look really weird to anybody else?

Anyway, big post coming with all that went down with camp jawbone.

P.S. the Flaming Lips owned all other sets of the weekend. That’s a fact. And i’m not even a real big Lips fan.

^I have to disagree.

I think Cheese owned it. I didn’t really like the Flaming Lips set, even though the special effects and stuff are great. Plus, I kept hearing Warren tearing it up when they stopped, so I was drawn to Mule like a mosquito to light.

We need a band that mixes all that crazy lips stuff with really good music. That would be sweeeeeeeeet.

And Manu Chao was the shit!! I was thoroughly impressed.

Man, those pictures make sweat just looking at them.

Looks hot, dusty, and miserable.

^hot, dusty and awesome would be the correct sentence.
