Bonnaroo '07

Just like “agams agams agams” was a joke!! ??? :stuck_out_tongue:

500, are you serious??? There were more people then that when they played SIOUX FALLS, SD!!! There will be a shit ton of eyes watching Panic whenever their slot comes up. They’ve
blown up the main stage before @ Bonnaroo and I don’t see why they wouldn’t do it again.

For sure, the lineups at those festies are great and thank goodness, reasonably priced. I couldn’t agree with you more. And there way less packed, which rules most of the time.

I just feel bonnaroo is worth the ticket price. The diversity there is surely bringing the prices way up, no doubt.

And summercamp is another steal. Bonnaroo is just operating at a way higher caliber in terms of land, bands, fans, security, etc. All that shit makes things much more exspansive. Right?

because the bulk of the crowd is going to be there for Tool and the Police. And as i stated before, besides the Panic loyalists (that have shown up in the past when they were THE headliners for two nights) nobody gives a shit about them. Therefore, only a small portion of the crowd will be watching them. Especially if they play on Sunday which would be the better idea.

and i totally agree that Bonnaroo is worth every dime. I just might not have that many dimes this year.

It’ll be interesting how many people just come for Tool. The question is, are there other bands on the lineup that most Tool fans like? I’m not sure. I’m not too hip.

There would still be a pretty huge crowd for Panic, though. Especially if they are headlining. The 7-10 pm slot is pretty convenient for most people, and its the only show happening at the time.

all i’m saying is that in 2005, when Panic headlined 2 nights, there was just as many people on Shakedown Street and wandering Centeroo than there was at the main stage. I can’t imagine there being a bigger turnout when they’re 3rd on the bill behind heavyweights like the Police reunion and Tool.

^yeah, i sold tons of beers while panic played. Its just not my thing. i understand why they were there, but 2 nights? with no other acts?

Because Panic rocks your face off.

I think they may be closing the festival.

There’s not a more honorable time slot. I don’t think at least.

Sorry, I meant head tea.

Panic should really be playing in the afternoon this year/

somebody famous and universally known and loved should be headlining for the hippies.

we all share different opinions and this is something I don’t think any of us could agree on…well, some would agree with others but you catch my drift

Jaw hit the nail on the head multiple times. Thanks.

I can’t believe the moaning here about the prices. These festivals are way cheaper than anything we’ve got this side of the pond and the line-ups are soooo much better. Thsi year, I’m looking down th barrel of Isle of White. 125 English = 245 US and what have I got , Muse & wolfmother and then a bunch of pantywaste English bands that will push out some dull-as-shit indie nonsense on instruments they barely can play - still if it’s sunny it will be nice.

Then I’ve got Glastonbury which is likely to hit 175 English ie 350 US and I’ve basically got The Who to look forward to (and understand the obtaining of tickets is going to be agony too). I’m not complaining because to spend a few days in the sunshine and maybe hear some great bands with some good friends will be worth it - but if the bonnaroo lineup was over here I’d probably need hospitalization just from the anticipation. You are all so very lucky to have such a line-up and I think most of you don’t realise how great it could be.

I hear you man, we get some badass shit this side of the pond. But, I’ve heard Europe has some amazing raves!

so Tool is rescheduling their tour due to an injury to the drummer.

It doesn’t clarify anything about B-Roo though

YEM reincarnated

Well, I’m going for sure. I bought my tickets Saturday morning and still had to the highest price, but oh well. My parents actually paid for most of my ticket as a belated birthday present.

I’m more excited just knowing I’m going on vacation for at least a week in June, and I’ll see some pretty good concerts.

I look forward to the OKP meetup!!

Ditto…except substitute “ate mushrooms and wandered around aimlessly with my boys” instead of “sold tons of beer”

now that i have a job that should have some money rolling in i’m getting closer and closer t going.

regardless of the lineup, Bonnaroo is still Bonnaroo. It’ll be fun as shit, lets go!

unlike last year, i am very excited about this year’s roo. i do think they should go the ozzfest route and make the damn thing free. or make it a food drive. bring in 5 GOOD cans of food and you get in. but hell with tool, clutch, and the police, i’d pay the price. reserved seats for the police in cleveland is $200. so if roo is 215, you’ll see a shitload of bands for $15 dollars.

when are we going to move this thread to shows/meetups?

and, I don’t understand why everyone is waxing nostalgic about last year’s lineup. It wasn’t that good at all. The Oysterhead show was sloppy and single show’s like that are usually lame. The Superjam, although cool, was also sloppy since it was their first show. I’m sure the energy was high, but I’ve heard the show…it wasn’t that good. And don’t give me the Radiohead argument. Jesus, I’d rather inject heroin and hide in my closet for weeks then go to Bonnaroo to see those wankers.

This year’s lineup is easily better than '05 and '06, imo
