Brookly Review

Yes. Yes.

Trey was on fire. Energized. Smiling. Ripping on the guitar.

New songs sounded great. Particularly that song “Light” about
walking a straight line and circles. That’s a really strong song
and had an excellent peak in the jam.

Trey is veering into more ‘serious’ adult, singer-song writer
territory. (He loves Elliot Smith, etc.) And he’s doing it well.

When I was hearing all those new songs…I felt like I was
hearing the future of Phish. Very cool!

And oh…the crowd. Hmm… At least last night:

Seems to have gotten older and even more male-centered.
They’ve replaced the acid with lots and lots of BEER.
And they’re stumbling and bumping into you (and your girlfriend)
the whole show. It was really a messy, messy audience.
People just plowing through the crowd instead of the light
tap on the shoulder and the brief “excuse me”…which really
works better.

It was MAD loud in there. Sounded beautiful. Kuroda had
the place looking amazing. Everybody burning. Lots of fun.
Even with the drunks…Straight up A- show for me.

There was one taper that I saw. He was hugging onto his
equipment for dear life. Let’s hope he got a nice recording…

I had a good time last night too! I’ll admit I got a little too drunk though. and I’m really pissed off that I missed Night Speaks to a Woman because I wandered down to the bathroom and then outside for some air, then came back in and it was set break.
I wish I could remember more from last night. But Alaska and Gotta Giboo were really nice strong openers. And Bug and Heavy Things and Sand were great too. I can’t wait to see more of Trey around these days.

hi

^whoa!!

thanks LEO LOVER!!! Listening to Alaska right nizz-oww

niceeee

sounds amazing.

I never really liked Bug that much when it was played with Phish but, when I heard it on the recording last night for that encore, it just sounded great. With the crowd singing along and Trey sounding so fresh, it was great to hear.

Huzzah!! New TAB = good. I could only get SO excited from Trey solo and acoustic but a good TAB show sounds treeeemendous. Downloading it…NOW!

Stevo

I love how your opinions are formed before hearing/downloading it.

:-X :stuck_out_tongue:

I meant that the IDEA of listening to a real TAB show and not just Trey solo sounds TREEEEEE-mendous. As in “Listening to a new Trey show sounds like a tremendous idea to me”

But…uh…yeah…(runs off)

Stevo

I listened and to the show a couple times and…it’s good, sure, I love trey
Is it better than “Original Boardwalk Style”, heck NO
