I think most message boards go through a natural evolution from discussing a topic frequently and in-depth to moving onto to other subjects. Look at PT. They’ve been around for ages and while they still do discuss Phish, it’s not hard to find a topic about fucking a tranny or taking a shit while at work.
I’d like to think we here try our best to not go that route.
Yeah I’d agree ghost. I think the level of content on this board is suitable for most. I do however wish we discussed more Phish. I came along pretty late and yes not much as happened, but we need to come up with a way to involve Phish more. I’ve tried throwing out a couple topics, but no one seems to grasp them. Admittedly they weren’t the most interesting topics as scouring through the board it seems as if everything has been covered.
I mostly hang around the music and sports threads and occassionally others, but wish we involved Phish more.
When I joined this board almost 3 years ago (right around the time a lot of the regulars on here joined, too), it was filled with non-stop Phishy discussion. Just look at the old posts and threads. But that fell by the wayside somehow. I, too, would love to see the Phish boards more active. I try to bump older threads from time to time to initiate discussion. Sometimes it works; most of the time it doesn’t. Threads like “Questionable Live Phish Releases” are ones that I think are great for the board.
I actually have to disagree a bit, while there are some sloppy points in the show, I think Brooklyn is one of the best shows of 2004 hands down. I mean we all know they were sloppy in their last year, but the fact that phish hadn’t had a band practice since the hiatus sort of makes it unbelievable. I mean ANY band who hasn’t practiced in over two years it going to suck, and yet, they pull it off.
