OK everybody here’s the deal. People should start calling the hotline and leaving the following message, to establish communication early, as astral recently suggested. I have created a gmail account (OKPchess@gmail.com) that will hold all comunication between the board and mike. Since i will be away from march 17-27, I will give zoot access to the email account so that he can check it while I am away.

[color=red]the message should include these points, word it how you like:

  • your username and that you represent the Oh Kee Pa messageboard

  • mention that all OKP’ers are trying to get through to the hotline, appologizing if he gets like 1000 of the same message

  • that the game will be run off of www.gameknot.com, and he should create a username on there at some point

  • the game will run 7 days per turn

  • to send an email to OKPchess@gmail.com, establishing the main source of communication between Mike and the board

  • he should say in the email when would be a good time for him to start the game, it can be a specific date, or a range

  • the board’s username in gameknot is ohkeepalounge

  • further communication on logistics will resume via email

When you leave a message successfully, reply in this thread that you got through, and that the hotline is currently open.

Members should stop leaving this message for Mike when Mike contacts us via email (zoot or I will notify the board when taht happens), OR when 5 people have successfully reached the hotline. If one week has passed after the 5th message has been left and mike has still not sent an email, we will resume leaving messages on the hotline again.

EDIT: zoot suggested, i agreed, that it was a little specific, so i crossed out the unneccessary details, everything not crossed out should still be mentioned in the message.

btw, the message changed this morning to the song about “peeps” the cat… unfortunately it was full.

just wanted to bump this up. we should start kicking this into gear. i’ve been checking about once a day with no luck.

it might help if people post when the message changes… that we’ll know from the first couple seconds if there’s a chance that the mailbox is open (some of his messages are pretty long). today it started with, [color=green]“thank you for calling the hotline. if you feel like calling and making it real special then you might want to do what one guy did…” he goes on to talk about conference calling.

(also i think if this thread gets moving it might encourage more people to try.)

yea i called its the same message, ill try again later, it was filled. I will do it as many times as neccesarry. If you need any help zoot just pm me

The hotline is open. I left a message asking him to email as per famus’ instructions.

Then I said the Madonna website was private between myself and her… And he shouldn’t be so damn nosey! ;D

Not only should we infiltrate Madonna’s hotline, but we should tear it to peices. All forces attack!! And yes, it has been about 9 weeks… Where are you Cactus?

we should start calling Madonna’s hotline with the Mike chess information.

How crazy would it be if Madonna were to say the words “Oh Kee Pa” and “Mike Gordon” in a public statement?

the message has been the same for a couple days now… the latest begins, “welcome to the holine… when i say the hotline, i don’t mean to say that this is the only hotline…”

thanks to everyone that has been trying to get thorugh… i’ll post as soon as i get something.
