i read on the first page that somebody had thought it was the lowest point in phish’s career…i’m not accusing you guys in particular, just defending a great show. i guess some guy hates it that much…
i don’t want insanity, i’ve been at PT and got fed up with all the insanity!!! this place is definitly 10x less insane than PT.
hello!
I love 7/10/99 too, but I wouldn’t mention LP 5 with the phrase “worst show ever.” It’s your average great Phish show.
And don’t listen to ICC, he has 2 first names.
bah, humbug!
Listen to Neil, for he is Adam Savage.
I’ve often wondered if I’m in the minority, but I could listen to the IT Chalkdust every day.
that’s trippy.
you said the same thing yesterday.
a
Glitch in the Marix?
And I have always felt this show was next up for my “Questionable Live Phish Releases” thread.
LOL
To be honest, before you started that thread, if you told me you were going to start one, I would have said you’re picking 7/10/99 or 7/8/00. I was a little suprised by your selection of 6/14/00.
Anyone else feel that the end of Chalkdust Torture was primed to seque into Manteca, but for some reason fell into Roggae?
whaaaaaat??? absolutely not, and it’s a laughable suggestion. then again i’ve never heard it.

FORK IT OVER, DOOD.
YOU KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT.
A
kay you can have it back.

thank you.
a
Hmmmm I guess I can kinda see that. Either that or Catapult.
It begins with about 1:10 left, and I feel like the beat from Fishman is almost perfect for Manteca.
I will listen for it next time I listen to that set, but I’ve never really thought that before.
It also sounds like Mike is trying hard to get into “Foam.”
I just listened to this show, and I’d say the “Chalkdust” jam’s resemblance to “Summer Song” is purely coincidental. I’d like to think the “Chalkdust” jam is just one of those majical moments of spontaneous beautifulness. I like how during the second set, Trey attempts to get in a similar jam during “Birds of a Feather.” Both jams are GREAT. The whole show is GREAT!
Since I had “Summer Song” on the brain, I did notice at the end of “Fluffhead” Trey plays a part that sounds exactly like the harmonics part in “Summer Song.” Probably also just a coincidence.
I just read through this whole thread until I realized that a majority of it is a year and a half old. Good Lord.
