Camera Phones at Concerts...

Thought this was a real interesting article re: the use of camera phones at concerts. Though i am guilty of it (i’m sure we all are) i always try to keep it extremely limited for i want to enjoy the concert. i def. see a lot of people snapping pics, texting, etc…

i loved chris robinsons quote in the article: “I personally think you should be too high to operate a machine at our concerts.”

From the Wall Street Journal…

I respect the bands I see too much to record whole songs. (actually I just don’t like it when I get flipped the bird by musicians) I will do 360’s with my phone to show the crowd and glimpses of the band. If there is really good music in the background, so be it.

This is the statement that caught my attention because Phish has been known to “play it safe” in front of pre-planned filming of their shows:

"Some artists say the ever-present lens is forcing them to play it safer on stage, knowing that a sloppy set in front of a few hundred people can quickly ripple out to thousands of YouTube critics. "

My phone takes shitty pictures in the dark…

I just took pictures at a concert. With my phone.

Ya wanna fight about it?
