Saw them there a few years ago and camping on site was available… still true?
Was there last year and they had onsite camping, from what I remember it was pretty expensive. There’s also several private campgrounds in the area. I’m camping at Green Acres again because it’s a ragin’ good time. It’s $50/person for 3 nights, Wednesday till Saturday morning.
Never camped there before but going to stay at Dead Creek Camp this year
Never been to Dead Creek but from what I hear from my friends who have at Green Acres and Dead Creek, Green Acres is much better. Dead Creek is closer to the venue though.
Yeah…I think we paid 60 or 70 bucks to camp there last year for one night, and it really isn’t much of a campground. In fact, because of how much it was storming we never even got a chance to set our tent up, so we just slept in the car, which we could have just as easily done at a rest stop. However, it was nice for that one show to not have to drive afterward.
Last year Green Acres was $20/person for the 1 show, 2 night camping. Pretty good. I’m willing to pay $50 for the 2 show, 3 night ordeal even if one of us might have to drive under the influence to and/or from the show. It’s pretty close. Hoping to camp next to the Cool Bus again and snag a ride ![]()
On-site camping at Deer Creek can be hit or miss.
On one hand, you literally walk to and from the show and lots from the campground. And there is usually a pretty good Shakedown in the campground that rages all night. Most of the private campgrounds are pretty long walks (corn fields and pastures are huge) from the venue and can be a pain to find in the dark after the show.
On the other hand, it can be a little pricey, especially if you have less people as they charge per vehicle and most of the private campgrounds charge per person. Also, it is just a pasture with no shade whatsoever, and August at Deer Creek can be brutally hot so plan accordingly.
Green Acres is where we always camp and it’s the place to be for sure!!
Definitely. I plan on showing up early again and snagging a shady spot. And maybe some higher ground than last time, we were pretty flooded after the show last year. It’s really fun just to watch everybody else drive in throughout the day/night and get hammered/lifted.
Don’t mess around…go to Green Acres…phuck on-site…6-up everywhere looking for wooks but settling for you and I, if you know what I mean.
You don’t want to camp in Indiana in August. MELTINGLY HOT and HUMID.
But…You might want to if you do not have a hotel and/or do not want to drive…
If anyone needs a floor to sleep on, let me know…I am at the fairfield in Noblesville…I can put up a few pa cats!
i haven’t camped at deer creek since 98’ 9?)
back then it was Pine Lakes… now Green Acres?
anyone know anything about Closeby?
thanks! ![]()
^ I used to camp at Close-By all the time! I need to look them up again…
I’ve heard good things about Close by but i’ve been to Green acres and I know that’s where the party is at! Green Acres is the place too be!
any thoughts on sleepybear? I figured since it’s so close that’s a definite plus…but it seems a bit small no?
i go to deer creek every year and I stay onsite never have any problems with the fuz as log as your not stupid you should be fine it always a good time its like a 5 min walk to the venue which is nice since there are CHECK POINTS after the shows thats why i stay onsite!!

I’m sorry, I just can’t see getting a hotel during Deer Creek.
The camps are WAYYYY too much fun!
Maybe that’s just me, I suppose.
But COME ON!!!
Not only can you sleep in your wonderful tent-home near a wonderful fire with wonderful friends, but you can get away with whatever you want on these private-property campgrounds–not that I am suggesting to go out of control, but shit, it’s way too freeeeeeeeee!!! It’s just that feeling of…ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh… no worries
drifts like a feather off of soapbox
Sorry, I’m just a camper by nature, and I would much rather camp out when I have the chance. Hotels/motels are very nice to have at times, though. Don’t get me wrong.
But Deer Creek=Phish Camp to me.
my fiance and I just reserved a spot at sleepybear last night. They said that we were in the overflow camping spot. Not sure what that means. But you cant beat $100 bucks for 2 people for 2 nights. Plus it is really close.
Seems like the ideal choice.
