the cops here in burlington have the same deal, call them and say you’re drunk and need help. they won’t worry about you being underage, they’ll take you home or to the hospital if you need it. no charges. i think you might have to ask to use the “got your back” program
as for drinking in the dorms, i know a ton of people who’ve already been caught by the RAs, not a big deal your first offense just have to talk to someone about why you felt the need to drink

^^Really? Careful with that. I’ve heard of people losing their licenses for walking intoxicated. I’d suggest finding the number for Saferide, or Morf (if you have a couple bucks). I’m pretty sure saferide is free and they have no affiliation with the police, thus not having to deal with them. By hospital do you mean detox, 'cause that’s no hospital situation?
yeah, i’ve walked past my RA drunk and stoned (not at the same time; the last time i mixed alcohol and marijuana it was BAD), she realized i wasnt sober but couldnt do shit. i went down to the dining hall drunk, the dude working the register realized i was drunk and flirted with me (i think he was, it might have been completely innocent)
you may be right about this, i looked into it more and you still have to meet with counselors but you won’t be charged. and the rule simply says “medical attention” which might be the hospital or might not

Ya see…back in “my day” (circa 84-87), drinking in the dorms was normal. Slap on the wrist. It was fucking required! You were deemed unnormal.
Hell, the Deltas held a yearly event called The Fry Street Fair (still going strong…http://www.frystreetfair.com/index.php)…they fucking sold beer from their dorm porch right in the middle of campus! Cops patrolled the Fair. Fry Street…people tripping…New Bohemians played every year from 87-92. It was normal to drink on campus.
What’s happen is the puritanical society has moved in on college fun. Now you can get suspended and kicked out of school. Sad.
I don’t write 'em, I just read 'em. It may just be an underage thing, I’ve not had to worry about it for some time now. I do know the city stepped up its citation for open containers, meaning they charge you a buttload for walking down the street, even being of age, with an open pabst.

I got busted on the day before moving out of the dorms sophmore year. I still had to go to the alcohol seminar with about 10 others on a saturday morning. A buddy of mine showed up to it still hungover from the night before, and was asked by one of the administrators to apologize to the group. I think he was also asked to attend another similar event. Moral- if you have to go, go sober, or you might get to go agin.
^^I’ve certainly heard stories from guys in the '80’s where school sanctioned events had kegs. Now, although readily available from local liquor stores, kegs are equated with the devil, i.e. common source.

About getting caught we used to smoke weed in the bike room and one time it was EXTREMELY windy and I guess the smoke blew right out into the hallway from under the door. There were tons of folks outside who obviously I was in there so I no choice but to try to cover my head and leave. The cops were banging on my door the next morning and I basically just ignored them. In the end I did have to talk to the building director who was ultra cool and basically said that it’s not no one’s ever done it before and kindly said that if I must do it, just don’t do it in the dorm. And that was that. Amazing.
Man, I miss college. Seriously, don’t EVER graduate. EVER.

the thing is, you have to let the RAs in. they have to knock and ask for permission to enter. there are peepholes in the doors so you can look out and check. they have to ask permission to open any closet or fridge. so you have to be pretty fucking drunk to let them in.
or, you could just forget that there is beer out (on sunday night we were watching the pats game and drinking, there was a knock on the door, without thinking someone yelled “come in”, the RA enters, there are at least 5 empties lying around, 3 o us have beers in ou hand, somehow we werent caught though)
The best part about my floor was about half of my RAs didn’t give two shits about anyone getting drunk. One of them was actually more drunk than all of the rest of us…for the second half of the year I never saw him sober. We’re big drinking buddies now which is great. There were years when we had multiple guys on the floor who sold weed…it was easier to get a bag of weed than it was to a soda pop.

This same exact thing happened my sophomore year. We were playing Goldeneye or something and our RA knocks and one of the guys just yells “yeah” (as in “yeah, come in”). The RA frowned and then motioned for the guy who yelled “yeah” to go outside in the hall. The room got deathly silent.
It was great!
And yeah, all I did mainly was smoke and drink. And eat. And poop.
i was on the first floor frosh year and we’d do whatever we pleased in our rooms, then when the smoke got too thick and somebody would come knocking, we’d bounce out the window and finish up the session out in the woods, we had a lot of woods at stockton, a lot of woods
