shit…my High School was one of the models for the movie DAZED AND CONFUSED! Seriously…Linklater was a graduate. Texas high schools in the 70’s and early 80’s were radical. They really let us paddle the freshmen and hold hazing rituals. We really had a designated smoking area in the school. My friends and I were part of a secret fraternal order called TKB (which my dad was also a member of back in the day…it was an acronym for something in Latin…we called it Tap a Keg Of Beer).
Now the same school has freakin metal detectors and guidlines against hazing and secret fraternal orders.
Glad I grew up when I did…when the drinking age was 18 and high schools were full of high keds.
college is awesome, huh?
