This is from a little email back and forth with the crew that I’m going to Hampton with, so some of the notes are inside jokes
That is like… the worst imaginary set list ever.
Just… just… terrible.

With intense ambient funk jam. Trey sings “still waiting” (from Cross eyed and painless) in the back ground of the evil ambient jam untill it cools down a bit and then he starts singing The lyrics from "Backwards down the number line"which almost bears no resemblence to the original acoustic version played at rothbury with his guitar loops
blaring in the back ground and then it goes back into the ending of piper.
- just the intro which segues into the talking heads “once in a lifetime” with page doing some massive synth drones.
Funk jam with more “still waiting” teases by trey which goes into the remainder of taste
** through out the vocal jam you hear them tease the “oom pa pa” vocal intro from harpua
They start up the song and replace the opening lyrics with “welcome you’ve made it to Hampton” and then right after that line they do a dissonant breakdown similar to the one in tweezer with fishman doing an evil laugh in the back ground and randomly shouting the hanson lyrics “Umm Bop” untill going right into harpua( with out the oom pas)
*** trey tells a story about jimmy missing one of his ex girlfriends whose name is sarah and who is from alaska which is an obvious hint that the crowd goes crazy for. Jimmy starts to feel nostalgic about his time in alaska with his ex-girlfriend so he sings a song that reminds him of her and thats when they go into “alaska”.
trey continues the story “See heres the deal about Jimmy and sarah. They had been dating for a long time and then they decided to take a break…a long break. A year later they get back together. A few years later after they decide to call it quits for good and then about four and half years after that jimmy tells sarah he wants to get back together again…” and then trey stops abruptly for about 10 seconds and then says "Jeez what does that remind you of " they then go into “Dont Let Me Down” Trey ends the story by saying “it was a really bad idea though because sarah just ended up killing his cat because…you know …shes end to that kind of thing” End of story.

#-Page song (first time played as Phish)
As a side note, I think that this is going to be much of Phish 3.0
Much of their catalog is going to be put on the back-burner, concentrating more on their later material. Although I do think that they will sprinkle in the old songs throughout the tour, they will concentrate more on the “newer” material. And, if I can be honest, I think that’s just fine. It would make hearing some of the classics that much more special, hearing them as a “bustout” or something along those lines.
So long as they don’t center around songs like Friday, Secret Smile, Mexican Cousin, or any of the other set killers, I think that this can work just fine. I mean the newer songs listed are some of their heavy hitters, ya know.
Anyway, just my .02
