Dark Side of the Moon on SNL?

Roger Waters is scheduled to perform on SNL on Feb. 2nd.

I guess the rumor is that because of the writers strike, they may give him extra time to perform Dark Side of the Moon. Of course, it is just a rumor… But I find this rumor to be more exciting than Phish reuniting rumors.

Huh.

In its entirety straight through? That’s almost 40 minutes, I think.

Interesting.

i guess it’s possible he’ll be playing all of dark side, guess i’ll have to tune in to check it out

i’d say he’d take a break a la Side 1 and Side 2 of the LP

Yeah, I suppose…but that (to me) ruins the flow.

That’s pretty cool I guess…I don’t have cable and I’d just as soon listen to Dark side, but good for him.

I’d give that rumor about 0.0000002% chance of happening. Not to mention that Roger’s voice sounds like he swallowed a big load of sandpaper…I’m not sure I could stand it for 40 minutes.

Stevo

So you’re telling me there’s a chance?!

I would think Roger Waters is getting tired of it.

Doubtful, but that would still be light years better then SNL’s normal content!

You don’t need cable to watch NBC.
Or do you in up there in Jr. America?

SNL won’t be on the air until/unless the writers strike ends.
No way the actors will cross the picket lines due to the fact that ALL of them are part of the writers union as well.

I saw Roger on tour last year. His voice is still great. He sings pretty simple things in compairison to say a Robert Plant who over time has lost a lot of quality due to the physically demanding stuff he sang. In no way does he sound like he swallowed sandpaper. As for if he’d play DSOTM, thats really up to NBC. At the show i saw, he played 2 full sets with the second being DSOTM in its entirety. He can’t be too tired of it. So it would basically be time constraints holding it back from happening(keeping in mind this is pure speculation.) Good luck in finding a sponsor to make it commercial free too.

Does Don McLean ever get tired of performing “American Pie?”

Does Dexy’s Midnight Runners ever get tired of performing “Come On Eileen?”

Does Mike + the Mechanics ever get tired of performing “All I Need is a Miracle?”

thanks a lot Neil. I’m gonna have that song in my head all day today now.

No problem.

“The Living Years” might be a better example with them.

Just sing both of them, you’ll be a better person when you’re done.
