Any minnesotans going to this show at the Cabooze in Minneapolis? I’m trying to find someone to go with me here in goFar. It is a saturday night, so I want to take advantage my ability to get down to the cities for a show.
i’m at about 90% right now…there’s a bunch of other shows in the next couple weeks to choose from too (buckethead last night, particle/brothers past, galactic, DSO, Lotus, The Breakfast, Panjea), which makes it tough money-wise, but i should be there. my cousin (a HUGE deadhead in the 80’s) called me last night, so that has swayed me even more.
if you’re gonna be there Post, let me know, we’ll have to have a beer.
I’m 50% right now…We’ll see if I can handle two trips the cities in one week.
This show should be the bomb.

JACK STRAW!! my favorite dead song of all-time.
saw Ratdog play it last year at Bonnaroo. I was running through the main stage field, on my way back to our campsite…then they started Jack Straw, i stopped dead in my tracks…listened to the whole song, i was crying by the end…granted i was messed up, but it’s just so beautiful!!! and they did it right. also saw The Dead play it at deer creek a couple years ago…solid!

dead cover bands are awesome.

I’ve never found a cover band as great as DSO. They’re sound is so on.
PHIX is really good but they don’t as much for phish as DSO does for the dead in terms of sound. Just my two cents. I’m sure there’s more bands that cover phish, i haven’t heard yet…
Phix was just an example.
^ see, that’s where i disagree in a way. Phix is unbelievable, and they NAIL EVERY COMPOSED SECTION…they’re crazy good. DSO as well, and i think they’re pretty comparable in that regard, sound and bringing back “that feeling”
PHIX blew my mind at the one only show i’ve seen so far…Damn near literally blew my mind…but I think it’s the vocals that i’m missing w/ phix.
i wasn’t neccesarily reffering to the fact that they are better or worse, I am just saying I like phish more but the dead are INCREDIBLE! do not get me wrong.

no, this show is 18 plus.
^ correct! a lot of shows there, a majority actually, are 18+.
