Dead tix near $100 a pop! WTMF?!

Enough hating? Lay off the Haynes then!

::waits for Will to point out that I bought a scalped Hampton ticket::

A friend and I were going to try for the MSG tix, and I got through for two seats. I’m waiting to hear from my friend to see if he got any. If I find out he did, I’ll be selling mine (or he’ll be selling his) and let you guys know.

Did you ever think that maybe I didn’t mean that literally? Nah…I meant it literally, but it was a joke.

The fact that some of you live within a few hours from these shows and aren’t buying tickets to see the goddamn Dead is very disheartening to me. The closest show to me is about an 18 hour drive and I’m still considering it. I paid more than any of those ticket prices to see Prince back in 2004 and I don’t remember the money at all, but I do remember seeing one of the best shows I’ve ever seen.

Imagine the upheaval if Phish '09 summer tour came out with these prices

Good point Hank. I’d be heaving some ups alright.

Not so disheartening if you’ve had the chance to see them before…plus, I’ve got too much money tied up in potential Phish shows to sweat the Dead tix. I want 'em, but I guess I just don’t want them bad enough.

I feel the same way. Even though I’ve only technically seen the Dead once, and it was in knee-deep mud at Bonnaroo, I’m cool with that. I’ve also seen Phil and Ratdog enough times to be satisfied.

Phish means infinitely more to me than any post-Jerry Dead project. Priorites. Plain and simple.

cool! keep me posted!

Just found out I have a friend who just scored some MGS tickets. Looks like I may be hitting the big apple after all. MAYBE.

something tells me they Dead are NOT going sell out each venue…

Uh . . .yeah. Once playing with the other hippies in the mud was enough for me.

And I just saw Phil and the Allmans in October which is basically the Dead these days anyway.

$100 for No Jerry. Nah, I’d rather not.

The Dead tours in '03 and '04 were about 50 bucks a pop. Not too bad in todays day and age.

The Other Ones were even less than that.

Doubling your ticket price? Jerry better be back.

I was considering the Buffalo show, but not anymore. The only band I’d even consider paying $100 to see would be Phish, but even then I’d have to think about it.

^ Right. As it is, for $100 I should be able to get a ticket to see Phish @ Star Lake, pay for all my gas it takes to drive there & back, get something to eat at the show, and buy a T-shirt.

Thanks, Phish!

Shit, I got Dead tickets yesterday for 50 bucks (Charlottesville va) and a hotel at the Marriot for $75 (split $150 with friend). $125 to see the dead AND stay in a NICE hotel one hour from me does not seem like a bad deal at all. Bring my Dead number of shows to somewhere in the thirties.

hey, notice they don’t call themselves Greateful anymore?

somebody post that picture of bobby on the merry go round, add the caption

“give me all your money”

^ You asked for it

All Your Monies Belong To Us.

it’s about right, the prices I mean, adjusted for inflation and YES they all have solo careers so…higher prices. I can’t believe everyone is surprised in another 10 years Phish will charge 100 bucks and WE’ll ALL GO. That is of course if the New World Order fails and we’re not all living in abject poverty like Mexico and China.
