Disc Golf

All the frolfers live far far away, it seems.

Except, you know, for the ones that live nearby.

Do what I do, man. Ignore the serious dudes. I don’t use a pink frisbee, but I do run gayly through fields of green as chipmunks and squirrels chill and giggle in the branches above.

4 rounds today.

wow.

+4, +5, +5, +1

not too bad I say.

plus the +1 round I was paired up with a super cute girl…

who plays disc golf…

and is really good (she shot a +7)…

and shes cute…

and we smoked hash.

wait… waht?

^hold on to that one, good find

i haven’t played disc golf in about a year now, we used to go over to philadelphia to play at fairmount park, but that is kinda of a journey to play some disc golf, spending two hours on travel time for a round that only takes an hour isn’t worth it. when we do go we play two to three rounds, it’s a good time but i do enjoy regular golf more. i suppose it’s got a lot to do with the fact that there are so many reg golf courses. disc golf is fun though, and it’s great to find a new course you’ve never played. We played this course in the Poconos, it was so hard we just stopped playing and smoked some bowls b/c it was taking like 8-10 throws a hole. I think somebody just put the baskets out in the woods and was like, there ya go, disc golf.

i’ll have to try to make it out again soon, there is a course about a half hour away that we play the most, but it is very flat, and very wide open, not many obstacles = not much fun, good to practice on though.

A few weeks ago my buddy and I played in Detroit.

Worst. course. ever.

9 holes, all straightaways with no obstacles whatsoever.

I think I shot a -7 or something.

Plus we were in the middle of the ghetto…

had to keep checking my car after every shot to make sure it was, well, still there.

I am just happy we decided to play Hudson Mills in AA… Beautiful course!

What was the rating and slope of the course?

calculates Willy’s handicap…

I have no idea… here is all the info I know about the course.

Oh I was just goofin around. I imgaine just average your “+” scores and that’s your handicap.

It’s more complicated with golf.

But in all seriousness disc golf does sound really fun. I should take the initiative and take up the game.

My favorite disc broke today, but its fairly common so no big deal replacing it. Shot a -2, but played pretty poorly. O well, I’ve got the weekend to game up.

How bout this place?

Who’s with me?

West Thompson Lake, North Grosvenordale, CT!

Check this out^ … looks pretty good.

Now come on, we can’t ALL live out in Chicago or wherever it is that half of you seem to live.

I lost a Champion Eagle disc yesterday.

I am sad.

Well, we just tried the West Thompson Lake, North Grosvenordale, CT course, and wouldn’t you like to know how it was?

It was freakin’ awesome. Way better than the one in Easton, MA that we tried IMO. And pretty well better than the 7 hole course at the local high school. I still haven’t figured out why this town put a disc golf course on the high school grounds, but whatever. I’ll take it.

My son lost his disc, which really upset him.

I tried to tell him not to sweat it, it’s just plastic, and that he was missing out on how nice it was there by letting it get to him. Then I remembered that he’s only 12.

So I’m goin again this week.

All you b!tches gonna not join me again, then?

I havent played since I lost my disc…

Sigh.

Not that I don’t have more… It’s just… That one was FINALLY broken in… Oh it flew so nice.

Now my bag consists of a Champion Valkyrie, Beast, Wraith, Gazelle, two Roc’s, a Cobra, and a Pro Aviar putter.

I need my Champion Eagle back.

^ damn, what do you need to many different discs for?

i can think of discs similar to a driver, putter, some that will hook/slice a certain direction and maybe ones that roll well but what else could there be? please enlighten me on the subject.

My Eagle was a driver that flew really far and straight.
My Valkyrie didn’t fly as far and hooked left (hyzer).
My Beast is same as Valkyrie except it ends up right(anhyzer).
Gazelle I am still trying to figure out.
One Roc is my main disc, mid-range.
The other is an older one I have that I use as a “junk disc”. Lots of trees to get through, or simply to knock another disc out of a tree.
Cobra is a good roller. Got 5 good rolling holes on my nearby course.
And a putter.

so i wasnt too far off! didnt realize they had mid range discs but i guess those would mimic irons for golf.

thats cool you have a lot of rolling holes. ive never used a disc specific for rolling before but i can get a regular disc to roll prety damn far. i really need to get out and start playing disc golf again!

Quick! Move to Northwestern CT/Northern RI before our next game.
