My dad just gave me the daunting task of organizing a few options for a trip to Disney World in May. Somebody help! I haven’t been to disney world since I was 10 which would have been the summer of 1990, so obviously things have changed since then. It’s so overwhelming. There’s so many options about where to stay. I don’t know which way to go. The only thing I’m sure of is that we want to stay inside the park. It’s going to be myself, my parents, and my 6 year old and we’d prefer not to all sleep in the same room. I’ve looked at suites which are outrageous, villas which might be a good option, and the cheaper hotels where we could get 2 rooms, hopefully adjoining. I dunno man. Does anybody have any recommendations, horror stories, ideas, personal preferences, favorite places to stay, etc that they’d mind sharing? We kinda need to book ASAP so I told my dad I’d try to have something for him by the end of the week. I’d be so grateful for any info!
I haven’t been since Thanksgiving break of '87, so I’m of zero help.
Be sure to ride the monorail and go to EPCOT, fo sho.
I just went last September.
Go to Blizzard Beach. And drop some L when nobody is looking.
We stayed at Vistana which is a Sheraton condo sort of deal. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, full kitchen, TV room, dining room, porch… all about 10-15 minutes from every park. Tons of swimming pools and whatnot as well. Check it out.
^Staying off property is probably the best idea. All the Disney owned properties are terribly overpriced. However, it is great to be able to go anywhere in the park using their internal transportation. I agree about the LSD. Tripping at Disneyland is def one of my favorite psychedelic experiences. Space Mountain is exponentially better with visuals
I’d say avoid Epcot. It’s just a bunch of overpriced stores. Skip it.

You bastard(e)!
Sorry…I have repressed mmeories of utter boredome at Epcot. I do, however, remember riding the “Small World After All” ride about ten times in a row…and I was sober. I can’t even imagine doing that thing while high. Holy crap…

go to universal studios, ride the rollercoasters
Agreed, they have some really good stuff there.
Unfortunately Back to the Future is gone for good. The Simpsons ride will be taking its place, but it was still being built when I was there. Pretty funny construction wall set up around it.
And the Spiderman ride is THE BEST.
Plus, there is the string of restaurants at the entrance… I forget the name… but Thursdays is rastafarian night at bob Marleys, cheap Red Stripe, half priced appetizers, and live music. Jah!
I just remembered the name of the hotel we stayed at in '87: The Contemporary.
It may or may not still exist, I don’t know.
the Contemporary still exists. it’s a cool hotel.
you’ll be set at any of them. they all have their idiosyncrasies and all provide transportation to the parks easily and free. don’t worry too much about where to stay.
man, i’ve been to disney world so many times. it was the staple of our family vacations for like 10 years of my life. i’ve probably been 11 times. yeesh
