I didn’t want to say anything at the time, but young Adam, the born again-ster who cast us off like so much foul air out of his asshole, beat me out of a ticket for the Toyota Park show a ways back.
I even had Neil help to make sure he got the ticket before the show, and he pretty much forgot even to say thanks. Just kind of forgot all about it and must have thought it was gift from the Almighty above, which I guess in some sense, it was.
It just didn’t make sense to drag him through the mud at the time mostly because I didn’t give a shit. Since getting involved with Phish, I’ve been beaten out of four tickets over the years. I’ve also given tickets away, so I think it comes down to a skewed personal sense of the value of a Phish ticket.
In all my ‘dealings’ over tickets, I seem to need to take the high road for each situation as encountered. Kind of thought Adam demonstrated some sort of terrible judgement, and found deference for the possible struggles he was going through. That’s why when he left us so abruptly, it supported the problems he was having.
Water under the bridge.
