Down with Disease

How have you been eating? Have you been getting any exercise? It could just be that with all the working you are neglecting your body. Get off the fast food and get on the tread mill. If that doesn’t work then start jumping to drastic conclusions like mono.

^
Or Scarlet Fever . I had that once as a kid.

Which is weird, because I was reading “The Velveteen Rabbit” at the time.

Oh come on, it’s obvious he’s pregnant.

yea… everyone seems right… being tired for days even with ample sleep is an early sign for mono…

get yerself checked out boy

I used to get tired all the time when I worked 6a-230p as a summer job a few years back.

My mom noticed and made me get tested for diabetes.

Just sayin’ .

I was just about to say that!! Or, you know it could be anemia. Are you getting enough iron? eating enough red meat and leafy green veggies? Get yourself to the doctor… really.

I mean if you’ve got mono that could seriously eat away at your posting time… and none of us want that, now do we?

LOL…

Feel better…

Don’t let it go more than a week without getting a checkup. Could be something serious.

greg, do you have SARS?!?!

Asian bird flu?!?!?

Maybe he has SIDS!

I got mono before I had ever kissed a girl (and don’t try any gay jokes, because I’ve never kissed a guy)

I think my wife might have something like that Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, but she’s had it forever.

This sounds like an infection. Does mono count as an infection?

You’re sick dude.

Now let’s start that revolution against the system so we can implement a new system where people can have freakin’ food, shelter & healthcare - just because they’re alive.

it was just a joke…

This is the best advice right here Greg. My question is: What are you eating? A young guy like yourself should be able to go on working and not get too over tired. First place to check is your nutrition. You maybe deficient in several nutrients.

You should get:
A high quality multi vitamin
Super B complex
High quality fish oil

Take the fish oil everyday, take the other supplements 5 days on/ two off.

It will take a few months but the supplements will straighten out your metabolism and you will feel better.

Second simply eat better. Eat whole foods. Eat eggs with some multi-grain bread in the morning. Get a glass of OJ a day. Eat rice, chicken and vegetables. Stay away from processed food as much as you can. Do not drink soda. Drink more water, like 48 oz/day. I bought a cheap 16oz water bottle from Wal-mart which makes drinking water easier. Drink less alcohol. Drink less coffee. Drink more tea, like 3 cups/day if you wish… this is a good way to get your water. Eat less sugar. Finally exercise 3-4xs/week.

Incorporate some of these lifestyle changes and you’ll find you have more energy.

^ That woulda been great advice if Greg hadn’t slept through it.

Nice job.

Well I went to the doctor today and he said I definitely have a virus of some kind. He said they could test me for mono, but it wouldn’t change anything because either way the only treatment is to rest and sleep. So I’m off work until Thursday and unless I keep feeling bad it should pass on its own. I’m going to be watching a lot of movies and TV for the next few days…

It’s funny how when I tell people that I’m laid up for a week or so they get all envious and think it must be nice to be so lazy and sleep so much. But it really isn’t fun to go through this sort of thing. I feel out of it, but not in a good way. I feel tired and no amount of sleeping or laying on the couch gives me energy. I would much rather be at work making money and doing stuff with friends than sitting around inside all the time. Imagine if it was an actual effort for you to remain standing and that’s what it feels like; all I can think when I’m standing is “I can’t wait to go lay down.”

Anyway, thanks for the advice and concern. Shit like this really makes you appreciate what it’s like to feel normal and healthy. Once I get over this I’m going to start exercizing again.

I’m just wondering. Are they testing you for other viruses? I mean what if it’s not mono? Maybe there will be a treatment that is quicker and may prevent you from getting worse if it’s anything serious.

make sure to wash your hands after you go to the bathroom. ive heard of this type of thing from getting fece in the mouth.

did you get fece in yer mouth?

be honest.

Thom, I’m really one of your biggest fans.

Can I start the Neck Fan Club? Can I be the Neck Fan Club president?

I’ve never been president of anything. How bout it?

He doesn’t have H-I-V, he has full-blown AIDS.

Is the “full blown” necessary?

I mean, can’t we just say “He doesn’t have the High Five, he has AIDS.”
