Election 08

^ more obama propaganda. And the Senior Senator from Arizona seriously can only raise his arm as high as he was with the microphone because of injuries suffered in Vietnam. The precious media must have forgot to report that story for ya.

This is my last comment on the subject matter because we really won’t solve anything by bickering back and forth. I enjoy arguing a point, but we both seem pretty firm on our sides of the argument.

the funny thing is on the MAJOR issues your on the SAME SIDE. LOL

Bailout(economy)= CHECK FOR BOTH OBAMA AND MCCAIN
FISA (spying on Americans destroying right of privacy) CHECK
Funding for the WARS? CHECK
impeachment off the table and no mention of it? CHECK

WOW, the Obama?Mccain ticket really differ on the MAJOR ISSUES…WOW

oh yeah Mcsame want to STAY in IRAQ and NOBAMA want to go into Pakistan and surge in Afghanistan. hahahahahahaha

What a JOKE

Its been said friends should not talk religeon or politics We’re all friends here right… Oh fuck that I’m voting Obama maybe two or three times if I can figure out how, damn I was just starting to like some of you too. JK It’s america write in Bong hit if ya wanna-I personally would love to go to that inagural ball

Deadheads for Bong Hits

I’ve ranted about the elections before so I won’t repeat it here. In the end, nothing will be fixed until lobbying is made illegal and legit campaign spending is passed to give third parties a chance. Since the two parties in charge love both of these things, these changes will never happen. And thus, we’re screwed and it really doesn’t matter who is president since lobbyists are who determines policy anyway.

If you put a gun to my head I would select Obama over McCain. I think he’s just a bit more intelligent and I think overall intelligence (and not policies) is what makes a good president. In the end 80% of what these guys promise won’t happen anyway so the issues rarely matter.

Of course, this doesn’t mean I’m voting Obama. I’m not really sure if I’ll vote at all anyway. I mean, what’s the point? Yeah you can be cute and write in a candidate or vote a third party but those are basically wasted efforts whether you believe they are or not. Voting either of the two jokers who have a shot at winning is just depressing in itself. So what’s left? I could vote for a bunch of local folks who I don’t know crap about aside from some stuff in the newspaper and I am NOT a fan of making an uninformed vote so I usually leave that stuff blank. So what’s left? Two proposals in the state of Michigan…one to fund stem cell research (which seems okay with me) and the other to make medical marijuana legal (also okay with me).

So that’s what I have…two proposals and a bunch of candidates that I don’t care about, don’t know about, or generally detest. Ladies and gentlemen, YOUR election process at work.

In the end, the Republicans have nothing to blame but themselves. I find I lean more towards Conservative thinking (in terms of less government and such) but none of the Republicans are even CLOSE to true conservatives anymore. McCain, Dubya, all of them take liberal views. The true conservatives have no one to vote for anymore…I almost wish that half of the Reps would break away and form a “True Conservative” party or something…maybe Ron Paul can lead them or something. Either way, it’s the Reps own fault that Obama may win this. They put their support behind a total idiot in Dubya and bowed to his every wish and they’re the ones who should have stopped this bailout and didn’t. So they had all the power and they blew it…I’m not surprised that they could be losing it all in there. Its their own fault.

Stevo

this is McCain when he got back from the POW camp in Hanoi in 1973:

^^^pictured with former wife he cheated on and then divorced
wonder why the Republicans are curbing their ‘morals’ campaign this time?

Here are some more pics:

still believe he “he can’t raise his arms high enough to use a computer keyboard”???
spare me with that bullshit excuse
I mean, it’s not like politicians make shit up to cover their ass or anything…
-and who types on keyboard that’s above their freakin’ heads anyway?
I call bullshit on all of that, and like most senior citizens, I say that he simply never took the time to learn

^^^the OKP’s political drama queen

Why the fuck would either candidate give two shits about the impeachment of George Bush at this point? The first attempt failed, and don’t ya think it’s a little late to try again?? I mean, get real dude. -and if there is a war going on, don’t you kinda have to fund it? -or should our soldiers use their paychecks to fund it themselves? As far as going into Pakistan and Afghanistan, don’t you think it’s worth it to go after and kill the mastermind and head of Al Queada who killed over 3,000 American citizens? -or should we just give up and let him walk away from the crime? some patriot you claim to be.
As far as the bailout and patriot act, I agree it is bullshit.

Besides, you are the one who is writing in a vote for a guy not in the race? Does that even make sense? spare me the moral bullshit, cause I’d love for Trey Anastasio to be president, but the fact is he ain’t in the race. Why don’t you do me a favor, write in “bong hits” instead, take a picture of the ballot before you cast it, and then post the pic on the OKP so we can all have a good laugh! deal?

well obviously you should vote just for that local marijuana legalization law, but as far as casting a vote for president, you could do what I’m gonna do if you want! You are right about the system needing a legit third party contender, so if you really want to help your country improve and really make a difference towards that, you should vote for Bob Barr!!!

why you ask? well, instead of being a moron and writing some guys name on a ballot that isn’t even in the race, you could vote Bob Barr. Now obviously Bob Barr isn’t gonna win, but if he manages to get just 5% of the popular vote, then come 2012 the federal government will be responsible for initiating a third funded party! Now that is not really a big deal, as most campaigns get the majority of their funding thru private donations, it is still a big step in the right direction for true liberty and democracy. I agree with you that we must rid ourselves of this 2 party system! Hell maybe even down the road change it two a 5 or 6 party system!

The really big news is, if Barr gets 5% total, not only does the Libertarian party get federal funds, but the BIG deal is that come 2012, they will be INCLUDED in the presidential debates, which ofcourse are watched by a worldwide audience. Finally, you could have a guy like Ron Paul go in there and really debate the 2 democrat and republican nominees, ask some real and different questions, and offer new and refreshing ideas to the public that many would lean towards! -all in front of a worldwide audience

If you can’t vote Obama or McCain, vote Bob Barr and atleast your vote will mean something. If the goal is reached, this is just the first step in an effort to truly change the country!! -give someone like Ron Paul, or my guy Jesse Ventura, a real chance to give these two corrupted parties a run for their money in 2012!!!

-just something to think about

I agree with you on Barr, KR. I already voted for him via absentee ballot. I just think of the two candidates that have any chance to win, McCain is the better candidate. Not because I like McCain, I don’t, it’s just I think Obama’s simply unnacceptable.

Oh!!! That would be brilliant to vote for a candidate because he wants to legalize marijuana. I see where your priorities are.

::slight_smile:

dude, man, fee, bro…

is that seriously how you comprehended my post? that would be like me taking one of your pro-McCain posts on this thread and saying that you are voting for McCain because you are in favor of a 100 year war in Iraq.

but hey, the time for talk is over I guess, may the best man win
(history tells us that with the Redskins loss tonight, it’s guaranteed Pres. Obama in Jan.)

yep, and I’m sure you have plenty of valid points for McCain being a more acceptable choice, primarily the experience factor. Oh well, should make for some exciting CNN ratings for the next 24 hours. We shall see. According to the Redskins loss though, Obama has this in the bag easy

I was being a tiny bit sarcastic. Just having fun as we don’t seem to agree much the way of politics.

Yeah I think Obama has it in the bag, but we have to wait and see. Damn your Redskins. Couldn’t they win for the sake of the nation…hahhahaahahahaha

Bong Hits for Bong Hits!

but really…

Obama FTW.

Bong hits for Sloth!!!

My Vote has been cast

Free Starbucks coffee if you walk in with a “I voted” sticker.

I’m not heart broken about the coffee… but I got no sticker for mailing in my ballot. Bollocks!!

Got my sticker… HEE haw!!! I paid for Caribou coffee though, dammit!

Yeah this free shit pisses me off haha. I voted 2 weeks ago and didn’t get the memo about free shit so my sticker is in the trash somewhere beginning its disintegration.
