Click the link and sign the petition. These folks have collected over a million signatures and plan to deliver the petition on March 31st to Chinese embassies worldwide. They hope such pressure will lead to the Chinese gov’t to open dialogue with the Dalai Lama.

“As China’s leaders decide whether to respond to Tibetan grievances with increased repression or dialogue with the Dalai Lama, an International Day of Action has been declared for Monday, March 31st. In 4 days, thousands of people in cities across the world will march to Chinese embassies and consulates, and stack hundreds of boxes containing our petition outside them. 1 million signatures makes a mountain of boxes - it’s a powerful way to deliver our message”

“China’s hardliners are lashing out publicly at the Dalai Lama–but many Chinese leaders believe dialogue is the best hope for stability in Tibet. Governments around the world have begun calling for dialogue, and there are many hopeful signs that, if we can keep the pressure up, China will agree. Already, we have had constructive discussions with Chinese officials about the message of our campaign.”

They’ve been trying this for many many years. Unfortunately, it’s probably never going to end.

I’m all for this, especially since I’m sure that the second the Chinese government sees a bunch of American signatures they’ll immediately have a change of heart and say “Wow!! We were totally all about keeping this area under our thumb and attempting to get rid of the Dali Lhama who has been against us for decades but now that I saw a bunch of signatures of folks from a country that we couldn’t give two craps about, we’re totally changing our minds. Let’s free Tibet!” Yes, that should work just fine.

Seriously, guys…this is a great cause and I totally don’t mean to insult anyone or demean it at all but can this “online petition” fad just go away? Can it please? Pretty please? In the history of mankind I don’t think anything has ever changed due to an online petition and it certainly isn’t going to start now. There are better ways to show that you support Tibet. Please…can we just stop it?

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to boycott buying gas tomorrow. That’ll show Exxon-Mobil!!!

Why don’t you Yanks just go drop a bomb on them and put an end to it?

Or a lengthy invasion always seems to do the trick as well. Use your imaginations will you? Petitions are so pre-9/11.

BWAHAHAHA!

So true.

::pulls out mini recorder::

note to self: never post an online petition on the okpa ever again.

::resumes shaving privates::

LOL. Well now I feel all bad and stuff…

I guess I’m all jaded since I get bulk emails about this stuff all the time.

Stevo

BUG! It doesn’t matter.
