Good luck to anyone trying to learn! The learning curve is quite steep for a card game. It took me many months of playing before I was able to start to strategize.
Yeah, I’m always amazed at how Euchre is totally a Midwest game. Considering that card games have been around for hundreds of years, you’d think it’d be more nationally spread out, but some reason it stuck to the Midwest.
Personally, I’d say I’m a pretty good player. Sadly, I have no internet outside so it’s a no-can-do right now but maybe when I get my shit together and get internet I can do it.

man…i used to sit around and watch my friends play this game for hours…it took me probably 7 years of watching before i even tried playing…

hell yeah!! Euchre is an old favorite of mine…i can’t tell you how many hours we used to play it on our baseball road-trips in college. that and Wist (sp?), which is another trick game, similar to 500.
Euchre is a really fun game and a lot simpler than you’d think. the only problem i have with it is that there isn’t a whole lot of skill involved…90% of it is what cards you draw, 10% is how you play’em.
that being said, i’m down with a game for sure! let me know when you guys are gonna be on yahoo playing and i’ll try to make it.
