Ever yelled Freebird at a concert/show?

“welp, i don’t think this is gonna be a ‘get laid’ set for me…” lol.

damn after he reacted like that i woulda kept heckling him just to see what else came out…

and as per question in title…

yes.

I’ve had so many people say “Freebird!” to me at gigs, and I just pretend like they’re trying to have a funny goof with me, like we have some common ground there somehow.

I think I pretend that they’re mocking other people who like to yell that out, that they’re not actually someone who likes to yell “Freebird!” themselves … but of course they like to yell “Freebird”; they just did.

Easier to pretend they’re trying to simply make me laugh than to get all upset. Or worse: to actually perform Freebird.

i like Bill.

I’ve yet to really get the appeal of Bill Hicks. So, he was angry? Is that it mostly?

I’ve tried checking out everything I can on youtube, and I think I’ve laughed maybe twice. Not even a big extended laugh though, just a “ha”. He just seems like a Sam Kinnison, Louis Black type, I’m funny because I’m loud and angry, comedian. Maybe I’m missing something though.

Something about this just gets me everytime though.

gold GR.

Bigger overseas then he ever was in his home country.

Yeah…some people find Ellen funny, so at least neither of us are in that camp.

I’m sure at least once I’ve yelled Freebird, hopefully in jest, because I don’t really need to hear it.

Bill Hicks was often loud and raunchy, but his bigger ideals about life, government, and everything else are pretty right on. “This is all a ride”.

How the hell did ‘Lucky Louie’ not get picked up for a second season by HBO? Really? That shit was good.

I’d say this describes me as well…it’s the classic “rock and roll fan” thing to do…of course…I become one when I do it. I always get a kick out of it for some reason…I’m a fan of running gags. Though, I wouldn’t do it at a small show with only like 20 people…that would be rude. I’ll do it at bigger shows where only the folks around me or my firends might hear.

And I don’t know about Bill Hicks but I did see some Caliendo on Comedy Central the other day…wow…it ISN’T funny. In fact, some times it was downright awkward. I guess he’s only good in small doses.

I tried streaming some more Bill Hicks on youtube yesterday…and I’m just not sure. I like they guy and I totally agree with 99% of what he says, but for some reason it doesn’t make me laugh as much as it makes me go “yep, that’s true”. I would like to read some of his material, as I think I might “get it” a bit more if it wasn’t being yelled at me. Did he ever do a column or anything? I know Icc posted a picture of one of his books. Was that hard to come by?

You guys ever see this Chappelle bit about doing mushrooms?

Pretty good stuff.

I’ve actually yelled freebird at more than one Skynard show

^ That has to be the correct answer!

;D

I’ve done this as well. I also made a point of yelling it right AFTER they played Freebird and while they were waving to the crowd and leaving the stage. It got a few laughs so that’s good enough for me.
