Okay so I’ll try and make a long story short.
First of all, since I had my car stereo stolen, I’ve installed a new one that plays mp3s, and I simply make collections of mp3 discs exclusively for the car. I make two copies of each one so that I have no worries about losing music to auto theft again, and at the same time I’ve expanded the amount of music I can fit in the car. By a lot.
Second of all, although I’ve already collected a bunch of my favorite Phish shows on mp3 format to keep in the car, I never did get my Phish albums formatted to mp3.
Thirdly of all, I’ve been working on this super geeky project of collecting Phish’s ‘live ones’ together to supplement the studio albums on said mp3 collection for the car.
Fourthly, I have no Farmhouse CD, since I instead bought the vinyl. So in order to do this mp3 thing for the car, I needed Farmhouse, so I checked ebay. There were few Farmhouses going, but one was this Japanese edition with studio versions of ‘Driver’ and ‘Mist’.
Fifthly I thought no way in hell I’m the only one watching this, and so I kept my trap shut about it here at the OKP. I did remove ‘Driver’ & ‘Mist’ from my “Live Ones vol. 7” line-up since I fully intended to win the auction, but didn’t care to mention it here in the thread for fear of one of youz guyz beating me on ebay.
Sixthly I thought, “oh look - a regular U.S. edition Farmhouse with 4 freakin bids on it, and it ends just before the precious Japanese one does. Surely the loser in that auction will hop on and outbid me. I have no chance.”
Seventhly I rejoiced and smirked eternal as nobody challenged my bid at all, and I joyfully paid the $9.94 that included shipping for this expectedly promising and entertaining unit of sound.
I’ll let you know how I like studio Driver & Mist. Anyone heard them?
