Certain songs get played out if they are played too much. I remember enjoying alot of songs more after hiatus simply because i had not heard them for awhile. Farmhose got stail but when they played it a star lake in 03 i enjoyed it!
I was definitely pumped to hear that as the encore. I didn’t really know what to expect but was glad they played it.
1st night at the Creek in 03 we met a kid and his girl who just jumped on tour at Alpine! They had a list of songs that had not been unshelved since the hiatus ended. Not many were scratched off at the Creek as we know. But that night in PA i could only laugh and smile imagining them not putting that list away the whole night.

it was some ohio show in '98, either cleveland or cinci. it was (obviously) the earlier versions where trey would pick out the chords using heavy tremelo after the big solo to close the song out. i always loved that. gave it more emotional punch at the end.
This is the only phish song I cant stand, I never listen to it anymore actually I never really did

Why did they get rid of the old beginning to “Farmhouse?” I liked it. And when did they do it? Fall 99? Spring 2000?
Damn. 7-15-99 has to be the longest version I’ve ever heard. 9:30. Anybody know a version that exceeds that?
Yeah, what happened to the old beginning??? And don’t hate on farmhouse, it has the same bass line as Let it Be and No Woman No Cry. I guess in that right its not very “phish-esque” but its still a nice song
They need to stop playing this song until they remember how to play it right. I used to like it, but not anymore. It sounds terrible. A combination of many things, but in essence it just sounds unrehearsed.

Yeah that was the one I just listened to. And the one from Hartford last June is far worse.
