Favorite/Best Overall PH Show

PH = post-hiatus

That^ post is so full of fail.

you put 12.31.03 on the same level as Big Cypress and Halloween '96???

I thought 12.31 was pretty sloppy for the most part and was the worst of the 4 Miami shows.

6/26/04, Alpine Valley, East Troy, WI is sweet!

I’m not up on the lingo. Sorry, didn’t know PH = post hiatus. I’ll do better next time. Actually, I probably won’t.

Worst of the 4 Miami shows was 12/28 as I see it. Rather easily too.

I was thinking more like what show would I want to be stranded on a desert island with type of thing. 12/31/03 would be 3rd out of the 3 I listed above.

I’ll delete my failing post so as not to offend any further.

no offense taken, buddy

just surprised you think 12.31.03 is so good

Wasn’t offended…

big cypress for me…

regular show…
12-7-97
11-12-94
7-23-00, my birthday

I agree with 6/26/04 Moma Dave, absolutely fantastic second set…

(read the thread)

^ I guess the Post Hiatus concept is a little difficult to follow

Phish>hiatus>Post-Hiatus>Retirement>3.0

02/15/03: Wolfmans is second only to the Hampton '03 version for me, and Reba, Antelope, Waves, Ghost are above average.
02/26/03: YEM is perhaps the best PH version. This MoMA is second only to Brooklyn '04 for me. Good ghost and waves as well.
02/28/03: The best IMO. This gin is amazing, best back on the train, very good Tweezer, excellent Walls, Destiny dusted off, etc.
08/02/03: Set III is perhaps the best set of the two PH years IMO
06/19/04: MONEY. 2nd set is mindboggling for PH.

Best show is Nassau for me. Best set is first night set III of IT.

Listening to 7/30/03 once again, one of my fav PH shows. My Friend My Friend opens the show and I’m sure it got the place rockin. The show also has a few breakouts, Lonesome Cowboy Bill, and On your Way Down. Also like the debut of You Ain’t Goin Nowhere. The jam highlights include a awsome 30 min Scents, with a great Twist and YEM!!

P.s Rosemount 2/20/03 is another PH show to check out
-Rift opener into Rock and Roll
-A nice Seven Below, and Pebbles and Marbles
-Excellent Gotta Jibbo completly rocks the house with some great tension release jams

That 7-23-00 show was killer.

They did a great “Jibboo -> Twist -> Piper -> Farmhouse” from what I hear.

Can’t speak for everyone, but I thought PH = Phish when I first looked. Then again, I’m old too.

As for 12/31/03, I agree totally that it’s not on the level of 12/31/99 or 10/31/96. However, if I was stuck on desert island I might want it just to remember some good times (I was at all 3 of those BTW).

Now everyone knows ways too much about my thought process.

^Yeah man, be careful, now we’re onto ya. I can understand where you are coming from.

If we are on the 03’ kick, I must give 2-15-03 Las Vegas, NV the nod! The sets are tight, you get a ‘Life on Mars’ that was damn near flawless, and that Free, in all it’s 6 minutes is one of the best I’ve ever heard. that Hood is also one of the best EVER!
I’m going to go back a bit and let everyone in on a show that many didn’t attend, but rocked so hard I still can feel the pulse of the show!

09-18-00 Blossom Music Center, Cuyahoga Falls, OH

1: Carini, Sparkle, The Sloth, Maze, Guelah Papyrus, My Mind’s Got a Mind of its Own, Sample in a Jar > Rift, Sleep, Prince Caspain
2: Boogie On Reggae Woman* -> Twist, McGrupp and the Watchful Hosemasters, Halley’s Comet
E: Axilla -> Taste
I honestly thought the Halley’s would never end, nor did I want it to! Those who were there might remember that Trey brought it so hard, that he got pissed because he was watching some yuppies not getting down, and literally walk off the stage at the end of the jam. Leaving Fish, Page, and Mike up there to bring the sanity back to the set! 138 shows and I’ve never seen Trey do that before, and I don’t believe he’s ever done it since! If you haven’t heard this 2nd set, you need to! I promise you, it’ll make your day!
*The jam into ‘Twist’ featured Trey on keys.

^I’ve never heard that show but I like it just by glancing at the setlist…very unorthodox. Me likey.
