 well, the whole first disc rules. Don't Get around to throwing disc 2 in, so everything i've come to love is Disc 1. i'd have to say

1. Esther
2. YEM
3. Dinner and a movie
4. Golgi Apparatus
5. Fee

Those are my faves, all really close. And don;t get me wrong, Bowie, Foam, and DS are great too.

David Bowie. David Bowie. David Bowie. This is one of two songs that really got me into Phish. Fish’s intro cymbals get me fired up just talkin about it, and With gordo hittin that hard slapping bass , and of course When Trey hits sonic speed towards the climax and then hits mach 3 in the finale. I melt everytime.

Y.E.M. Divided Sky and Fluffhead. Divided Sky really got me into Phish, and I remembering loving Phish even more the first time I heard YEM on Junta! I already had it on one of the shows I downloaded, the first show I downloaded really 11/4/1990. So amazing! Just recently I got into the rest of the Fluffhead chronicals, I love all that rhyming its so rockin i get so stoked whenever I hear it! Rock on.

actually i remember reading somewhere (pharmers almanac, perhaps ?) that there was an animation that accompanied the original junta score of esther. a music video of sorts…i believe it was shown before a show or during setbreak at a show…i wanna say it was in the late 80’s…dont quote me on that.

i’ll try to dig up whatever i read and report back…

as far as composition goes, Fluff’s travel’s is trey’s most complex peice. some of the melodies are so insane. great tune as well, builds up to such a great ending that throws the origional theme right back in there. obviously all of the songs on junta are excellent though. i could have that song stuck in my head for months at a time.

I just won Junta on Ebay for $7.45 USD…I can’t wait to hear it…The cheapest I have found it in Regina is $26.00…so I’m pretty happy. I also got, from the same person, moe. Warts and All Vol. 2 for $10.00 USD…I don’t know if this is a great deal, but it seems more than fair to me. Anyways, I can’t wait to contribute to this section of the board.

Vol 2 of Warts and All is by far my favorite release from that series. And I think I have not paid more than $13.00 U.S. for all four of the three-disc sets NEW.

Vol 2 has a sick “Kids”, “Mexico”, “Timmy Tucker”, and “Rebubula” all in one show. Quite rediculous if you ask me, quite rediculous indeed.

Oh, and Junta rocks.

I know this is ever sooooooooo slightly off topic, but my all time top three favorites include TWO from Junta. #1 Divided Sky, #3 David Bowie.

Yes, welcome. I think my vote for favorite composition on Juanta would be YEM but I enjoy listening to Divided Sky probably a little more. I do like searching for them “CHRON” YEM’S though. There’s soooo many.
