FAVORITE POST-HIATUS SHOW

i don’t know about a show…but in my opinion, “Theme From the Bottom” at the Feb. 25, 2003 was the best version of that song ever played!!!

I went to quite a few post hiatus shows and have to say that the first night at SPAC 6/19/04 blew my mind. I hadnt seen them play with that much energy since before the hiatus with the exeption of “IT” of course. But even the energy the crowd gave off brought me back to pre hiatus times.

i have soundboard of every show from new years 2002 threw coventry and hands down the miami show blow the doors off of everything, even TREY agrees in an interview after the last show

does anyone have these shows on dvd?

I heard people say they went to the Nassau show in February 2003 with no expectations. Well I was totally the opposite. As I was shut out for New Years tickets, the Nassau show on my home turf (I am from LI) became the show to hyperventilate about, and guess what, I got the bragging rights as it was the best show of that tour, with the DESTINY UNBOUND and a great TWEEZER. The second Nassau show of the year was also a winner

IMO the best post hiatus show is a tie between 2.28.03 and 7.31.03

2.28.03 obviously had the Destiny and SSP, on 7.31.03 they just played the hell out of everything…especially set II

12/31/02, I know it was the first one back (and they had to shake the rust off), but I think the music was great, and all the excitement surrounding it and the Hampton run made it my favoriet post-hiatus show. Although I really love some others from New Years 03 run in Miami as well.

Yeah, those two alpine shows in 04 were sick, that particular Julius, Roses Are Free -> AC/DC Bag, Glide to open it up on the 25th was ill…

honestly i thought that the first set on the 25 was not that great. But the second set was absolutly amazing. The second nite at alpine was way better that the first. BOOGIE ON!!!

I consider 7.29.03 to be one of my favorites…I drove to pittsburgh from bosoton only to get pulled over by a dick head statie and didnt make it into the show…the worst part was i was shackled to a bench when i went in for booking and some other phan was right next to me (he looked like spock)…anyways he got to call his girl friend from the police station cause she did make it into the show and she told us the setlist as it happened…everytime spock told me a song they were playing i wanted to cry…especially harpua…“the dog in the station doesnt need a vacation”…that was my vacation and i ended up in the station but i bought the show when i got home…love every minute of it…fee, scent of a mule, gotta jibboo, golgi, harpua, timber ho…great show all in all and i loved treys story about jimmy…every night hes meeting IT.
Oh and also great woods second night is right up there as my favorite…i can listen to that 2001 all day and night…i have a very large collection of shows and have yet to find a better version

Actually, 6-25-04 and 6-26-04 @ Alpine were fun shows. Day one was rockin. Opening with Julius>Roses>AC/DC Bag! Set 2 is Seven Below (27 min.)>Buffalo Bill, Lawn Boy, Mikes Groove, YEM>2001>YEM. Trey nailed the intro to YEM, which was rare during that period. Night 2 had its moments, including a bitchin Possum encore. I know the last tour wasnt great but these showe were good.

I don’t think there is much debate here. Miami was hands down the best phish shows post hiatus. Not only was the music on all four nights, so was the crowd. While many of the shows being discussed on this board may rival Miami in music none of them had the energy that Miami had. I agree with the Chris Kuroda- they should have never played another note.

thanks george you are the man i have seen phish almost 300 times and in my honest opinon miami all four nights were my favorite nights of my life, i had a 102 degree temperature while i was there all four nights but the music spoke to my unlike anyother show and inspired me to play guitar

the jams are like nothing i have ever heard they go so far and sound so good

7/15 is good. The Miami run is pretty decent. IT was ok. Star Lake was over-rated and nothing at all stands out in 04’, show-wise.

SPAC 2004 was sweet. Some of the BEST post hiatus gigs, actually.

Opinions are like assholes…they secrete shit and everyone has one.

in another thread, Edison and i both agreed that 04’ had some nice moments (my fave. being the Momma>Free) but neither of us think there is a standout show.

^ Jeez, well you two just make a great team, don’t you? Where are you going for your honeymoon?

First off, what makes you think we are NOT together ??

sorry, your first and only tour sucked

Classic!

wait…were you insinuating that we are gay ?

So what do you have against gay people …or…what is so funny about gay people ?

I was just fucking around…but was that comment directed at me? What tour? Where am I?
