mock song, pebbles and marbles
Walls of the Cave and All of These Dreams <------no joke
without a doubt the opener for Coventry…if you think about it, Best ever???
round room…wotc close 2nd, then pebbles.
Mock Song and RoundRoom are my two favorites at this point…This is the only phish album where someone actually outshines Trey and that man’s name is Mike.
“All of These Dreams” followed by “Seven Below”
I listened to this CD yesterday and I have to say Mock Song is just AWESOME! This song is underrated. It’s very Mike… The guitar solo and Trey’s on the spot, improv backing vocals (nonsense) are fucking great. The groove Fish locks into is so tight! This song has so much SOUL. What are your thoughts of this song? I recommend a headphone run through. Does anyone dig this song as much as I do?
I love Pebbles and Marbles…when I think of this album’s release, the end of the hiatus and that month leading up to NYE at MSG I think of this song.
Round Room. It is very reminiscent of their Junta/Lawn Boy days.
Me! I remember just letting Mock Song play on repeat for a long time when I was getting to know Round Room. That track rules.
The Round Room album has some real gems on it.
I did this song as much as you do.
HAHA I just realized that I typed did instead of DIG!
Fixed that
Walls of the Cave…by far. Love it more everytime I hear it.
Welcome to teh OKP!!!
Just wanted to say that lately I think Round Room belongs to Mike. Mock Song and Round Room are two of the best songs on it!!
“Walls Of The Cave” has become one of my favorite Phish tracks overall, much less the album.
The Pebbles and marbles intro is beautiful. The Silent Trees portion of WOTC is Epic. So its a tie between those two
Oddly enough Friday is my favorite song on this CD. Seems so sad at first but the more it goes, the better I feel.
Why is the sun hot?
Why does it rain?
Why is there danger and
Why is there pain?
Why can’t the burden
we carry go away?
And why isn’t it Friday today?
" Does anyone dig this song as much as I do?"…moma dave a while back
I sure fucking do! Over two years later and its still my #1 on this album. Mock song is like a fresh new pair of socks for me.
I’ve been running Round Room in my truck for the past couple of weeks. It’s really grown on me a lot. I think about the only songs I really don’t like that much are Friday, Mock Song, and Thunderhead. The rest of the album is actually pretty solid, considering its roots as rehearsals that turned into a recording session for an album.
Waves is one of the best Phish recordings on a studio album, I think. Not because the fidelity is real high or anything, it’s just Phish encapsulated into one song and caught on a studio album. It sounds like they rehearsed it 5-6 times and then turned the microphones on and caught the magic while it was happening. Huge build up here… it sounds like they were playing and having fun with it. It’s a little rough around the edges in parts and that’s exactly why it’s perfect. I was thrilled to hear it at Alpine last year and I hope they bring it out more often in 2010.
46 Days? Lights out… it’s awesome. One of the best “modern” Phish songs, IMO.
