I loved the two vocal jams I saw at Alpine. The huge wooden pavillion created great echoes and a great atmosphere for vocal madness like that.

For the first month or two when I listened to Phish I skipped the vocal jams. Then one night whilst very out there, I listened to the MSG '95 NYE YEM and ensuing vocal jam. Freaked me out.

I haven’t listened to that show in a while, but I have listened to the Hampton '03 run relatively recently. I think the Hampton has the George Takei chant. But… I could be completely wrong too.

Vocal Jam fans check out 10/24/95. The Yem vocal jam is crazy then proceeds into Sleeping Monkey. The whole intro to Sleeping Monkey has a vocal jam. Gave me goose bumps. All in all pretty damn good show too.
