Fluffhead

What can we really say, Classic great old skool PHISH here… I mean is there much better? (I know there is) Very well wwritten song that Mike got sick of I think…

PILLS!!!

Trey wrote this when he was like 15. And it is amazing. That really cool video on youtube is so fun to watch. Great Track.

Back in the day, I tried to get a live tape of them doing each of the INDIVIDUAL parts separately back when each was its own song. I actually did it too and in the end I got a lot of cool old shows as a result. Fun stuff.

If I had to pick one song as the greatest phish song, I think this would be it

When i first got into Phish in 93 it was probably my favorite tune. But after hearing it so many times in my first few years i have to admit i got sick of it. When it became more of a rarity is when i became more fond of it. In 99 at Alpine i got what i had been desperatly waiting and hopeing for. They played for about another 10-15 minutes after the song had ended. What they played was absolutely sick. They actually brought Fluff back full tilt in 99. 3 on the summer tour and a few more in the fall and winter. I needed a couple years where they left it alone. Being on tour awhile can make you feel weird about songs from time to time. With just recordings to listen to we choose the setlist and that can skewer things!

You Enjoy Myself! I like Fluffhead but nobody missed it until they stopped playing it.

^ That’s such horseshit…nobody misses anything until it’s gone. How can you miss something when it’s not gone? Fluffhead definately defines what Trey’s early compositions were all about.

hey, keep teh_ breeze, no electronic anger…

Lemonwheel FLUFFHEAD is teh bomb…

Fluffhead is classic Phish at their best.

I like Fluffhead but the only reason people screamed for it was because it hadn’t been played much. It’s an amazing song and all but I could definitely see them getting tired of practicing it.

The only other songs I see holding this honor are “Harry Hood” and “You Enjoy Myself”

OK, and maybe “Slave to the Traffic Light”

i love fluffhead…any recommendations for some great ones??? i only have a couple on disc and i would have to say that my personal favorite is the one from the ball…any input on some other smokin ones??

I agree with Vern I love the Lemmonwheele version. I think Page had a really good sound going that day. I like this song, but only once in awhile, where every time I hear it I enjoy it. Once very 3 weeks or so. It’s a song I get burned out on very easily.

I listened to the Junta version a few times yesterday.

I think it’s amazing how it starts and ends with the acoustic guitar. Gives it a real nice feel. Especially at the end as it raps it all up.

im listening to the cd i got from zoots FMF last week and there is an absolutely nasty fluffhead on 5/3/94

Forget everything I said about Fluffhead. I saw some video on YouTube of them playing this in 1990 sometime and it blew my mind.

I’m listening to a version from NECTARS, 7-24-88…and it’s pretty damn kickn’.

Fluffhead worked when they practiced. It doesn’t work (like teh other composed ones) if you don’t practice.
