I’ve gotten shut out twice now for the only summer show I tried to get tickets for, but I’m not pissed off. I was a little frustrated with my computer attempts being twarted, but after I stopped trying, I found that I wasn’t really upset about it.
It kind of dawned on me that I was going to that show anyway, and that somehow, I’d get a ticket. Part of that faith, once again had to do with coming here, something that I’ve had trouble with over the past few weeks.
Since the first of the year, my average work day has increased significantly, and it’s made me less tolerant, edgy, tired, and aggrevated mostly as an undertone to everything I experience. I was coming here and finding myself getting angry and upset over so many posts, that I first thought that it was time to stop.
That undercurrent also began to spill over into the way I was responding to posts that didn’t make me feel very good about myself, and I believed I was being insulting to some folks that I’ve since felt a need to apologize to.
Under the guise of believing this sage business, instead of really feeling how issues were impacting people, I was more enamored with maintaining some credibility here for myself. When I realized that, I had to back away from you all, and give serious thought to why, at 61 today, I should want to be so close to your minds and hearts, and why I would want to let my unbridled frustrations out any of you.
I love you people and don’t really want to be phoney with you, just fony with you. I’m still under that work stress, and I’m trying to fix things in my life. But if you don’t see me posting as much, it’s because I can’t be the later and refuse to be the former.
But this thread (and ghost’s wedding pictures) have really made me fony today, and I’m truly grateful for this place and all of you.
We’re taking the family out to the small back dining room of a strip mall pizzaria, where the food is good, the prices low, and we can be as loud and obnoxious as a rowdy family can be partying in a restaurant. And it’s BYO, which is always fun. Have several bottles of wine and twelve pack ready to go.
It’s the first family meal that one of the grandkids is bringing a “special firend” to. Livy, our eldest at almost 14, is bringing her “boyfriend”, whatever that means to that age group today. I asked her if I can embarrass him at the table, and she was all for it. That’s my number one.
Then it’s back here for cake, ice cream, coffee and candy. I left work early today to pick up and set up my own party, and it was kind of cool.
