i downloaded some prgram that was supposed to be free…and on my dial up it took like 3 hours to DL and scan…that was the free part…to delete the problems was gonna cost me cash. i dont have a credit card…and i already wasted several hours trying to remedy this situation. someone link me to a FREE FREE FREE spyware/virus thing. for the love of christ…what have i done!!!

Sometimes those websites show up infections that aren’t always spyware or viruses so it’s not the end of the world, I can see you have at least 1 spyware item from the screenshot though. Two good completely free ones that allow you to remove items are Spybot Search & Destroy, and Adaware

I’d go for Spybot if you are on dial up as it’s a smaller download, see what that finds. If you are on XP then create a restore point just to be safe, that way in case the spyware removal causes any problems (it shouldn’t) you can roll back to a setting that works. Start>Programs>Accessores>System Tools. You can now buy computer sized condoms at your local computer store, so once you’ve done the above and it’s clean, do that too.
