So i’ve been on the road all summer and haven’t had my laptop, or a CD player or anything with me.

I was so excited tonight to stream it because i have the chance. I put it on from the Myspace page but somethings fucked up about my friend’s computer. The right speaker doesn’t work and i noticed when Trey disappeared at the end of “Backwards”

i just couldn’t do it. I’ve gotta wait till i can really hear this thing. I mean i already heard most of the songs on tour this summer so its not a huge mystery but i wanna hear em again!

guess i’ll just have to wait a little longer.

Just pop in one of your favorites from times past, and enjoy it to the fullest my friend. You’ll have a better time doing that, I promise.

I disagree. It has weak points, but it’s still a nice record. IMO, the only bits where it really falters are Kill Devil Falls and Ocelot.

Weird, those are two of the highlights for me. I really love the album up until the last 4 songs. I’d probably like “I Been Around” if it wasn’t surrounded by those other songs. TTE completely brings down the album for me, and any concert I went to where it was played for that matter. What a turd of a song.

I agree! I think it’s a fantastic record.

I just happened to buy it last week, actually. I had taken the day off work, as it was the first anniversary of my sister’s death, and I just wanted to stay home and chill, and have a calm day…but I realized it would be a good time to go out and buy some music, and so I did…opened it and saw the dedication to Kristy, and had to struggle not to lose my shit right there and then. I couldn’t, though, while the music was playing- so much JOY, indeed.

It’s an incredible record- incredible musicianship as always, and lots of fun.

UPDATE: so i’m back in FLA at my dad’s house fixing up my car and getting ready to go back home (gonna make the 3 hour-ish drive in a few days). I got a Joy CD to rock out on my way back home. I’ve been anticipating this homeward bound highway listening session for weeks now and you wanna know what happened?

the CD player in my car is not working!!!

its got 3 days to get its act together or i’m going to make the drive in silence trying to imagine the drive that could have been.

I haven’t heard Joy yet either.

I wanna get the vinyl but haven’t wanted to spend the cash yet. Figure Santa might buy it for me. And I think I’m gonna just enjoy that Party Time is out of reach, and I don’t feel like pirating either one of them so I’m just gonna be patient and enjoy the abundance of live recordings for now.
