Last night, completely sober and drinking only coffee, my best friend and I saw ‘Eraserhead’ and ‘Pink Flamingos’ for the first time. In that order.
…I loved ‘Eraserhead.’ Is that wrong?
…I hated ‘Pink Flamingos’, but not because it was filthy/disgusting. It had borderline terrible acting and was just disturbing in a lot of places, self-consciously so. The best part was John Waters’ commentary afterward on scenes that were cut. “Cunt eyes?! What was I thinking?!”
Anyway, your thoughts? And yeah I realize this should be in the movie thread, but I wanted to talk about these movies (and other fucked up ones) exclusively.

Pi is one of my favorite movies. I love numbers, but i hate math. Isn’t that weird?
Pink Flamingoes and Eraserhead in the same night??? That’s pretty ballsy. Those are certainly two of the most fucked up films I have seen. Others:

anyone seen Vulgar? that movie is so fucked up. its an underground jay and silent bob movie, so much different than their other ones. i’ve also been watching a lot of kung fu movies lately, and one that deserves honorable mention is Duel To the Death. yea, the title tells the plot, probably the most intense fight scene i’ve ever watched.
I saw “Pi” when I was a senior in high school, completely sober…I thought it was incredibly fucked up. I like numbers, just not that much. I think I fell asleep near the end.

I HATED Bully. I know it is a true story, but either I don’t think it was worthy of being made a movie, or the acting was so horrible that they should have picked another cast. Although, I was never a huge fan of Kids either, but Kids is way better than Bully.
Bully was not a sequal to kids. Its just that Larry Clark is such a sick fuck that all his films run together into some rediculus mess of naked little girls and disturbing violent imagery.
Anyone seen Teenage Caveman? It is the deathbell of this asshole’s career. If it wasn’t for Harmony Korine’s unique and gritty script he wouldn’t have been known at all!

A good fucked up movie is “Miracle Mile”. I used to watch a lot more movies on late nite HBO when I was a kid. I think some of them seriously fucked me up. Thank God I discovered soft core porn. This was one of them. It’s actually not that anything in the movie is fucked up - it’s more the premise.
“After Hours” when I was 8-9 is another.
“Naked”
“The Seventh Sign”
“Rosemary’s Baby”
“Colors” - definitely fucked me up a little
“Creepshow” - fucked me up after my second day of kindergarten.
“Robocop 2” - I was watching this on TBS a few days ago…now I know why I used to be afraid of going into cities. This movie is so violent and portrays 70% of its cast as nothing but violent drug addicted mindless criminals. I’m not one to be the morality police, especially in movies, but Robocop 2 has no redeeming values. Go rent it.
“The Cell” somewhat fucked up.
“Solaris” w/ Georgre Clooney…fucked up and boring.

Hostel. I think I would have rather done without seeing that. Shit… Watching a girl having her eye blow torched out while listening to her scream for all hell is something I really didn’t need/want to see. WTF!! I’m not sure why torture films are becoming so damn popular at the box office. I told myself after this film I have no disire to see another film about torture and brutality. Fucking gross.

Hostel. What a piece of shit movie. I read ‘American Psycho’ and that was enough gore and torture for the rest of my life. Why anyone would pay to see Hostel, I don’t know.
