ive heard people talk about etree and nugs and momadance on this site. But nobody talks about all of the shows available on furthurnet

Does anyone else use this peer-to-peer?

I highly recomend checking it out:
http://www.furthurnet.org/index.php and download the furthurnet to check out all the killer shows they have. Everything is from approved for non-commercial trading live music and is legal. They even were mentioned in the Congressional hearing on p2p trading as a legal application of p2p software. I use it more then anything else to download shows. They have pearl jam, rem, sublime, sci, moe, even husker du!

Im an idiot…besides the bands I mentioned above they have TONS of PHish from all eras. in FLAC SHN and OGG as well as MP3 and even some videos. I have downloaded 100+ excellent phish shows from this network.

I used to use FurthurNet about 4 years ago. Then they revamped everything, and I was never able to get it working again. It is a great source for shows you will (probably) never find anywhere else. I got a few Beck shows, some Jurassic 5, and this band called Phish, anyone ever hear of them?

i used to use furthur net all the time until i found the wonderful bit torrent a lot of the shows i got off of furthur net were some times bad files and such and it just drove me crazey

thats wierd, I don’t think I have ever gotten bad files from FN. A Couple of shows have really low volume levels…but that is par for the course.

I too used furthernet until I discovered bittorent…Bittorrent is faster…that’s the main selling feature to me…They do have some stuff on furthernet that I haven’t seen on bittorrent, yet. It will all turn up on bittorrent eventually…Anyways I used to only use Furthernet for my Grateful Dead stuff, and downloaded roughly 500 shows from there, but you can download every one of those from archive.org, and bt.etree.org has a much better selection of phish, so I rarely, if ever, use furthernet anymore, but I will search for videos on there once in a while. I’ve gotten some good Dead videos off of there, but still bittorrent is faster.

You guys are all correct…Bitorrent is faster! But, I thought that everybody might like the opportunity to check it out and decide for themselves. Particularly those who might not be savy enough to figure out BT clients and such!

Plus the Phish selection is excellent and usually readily available!

hehe yeah after i discovered BT i kinda threw furthur net off to the side but when i get back from the shithole i am definitly going to have to revamp my relationship w/ furthur
yeah i agree thank you for the reminder that it still exists

i used furthurnet for awhile, but the slow speeds pissed me off, i use bittorrent now

Love furthernet there are some great shows there, its a bit slower but it also has a shit ton more variety then you will find on etree/losless legs/den…I particuarly recomend shoring up your live Bob Marley & Peter Tosh collectoions there, some great sbds
