Since I can’t post on the Goderator board despite being a Goderator, I’ll post it here.
I fucking hate what’s happened to the General Phish Discussion board since the reunion announcement. It’s become a cesspool of crap.
I don’t have the time or patience to read through all the threads and delete/move them, but this is exactly the kind of asinine “start a thread over every little thing” bullshit that we don’t post on PT for.

I just read some great posts that were generally ABOUT Phish, but not in this subforum. ghost posted a nice one about the relative validity of wishing for the band to practice, vs. the 'stop demanding things of the band and let ‘em suck if they wanna suck’ mentality … so I say this with respect to the generally high level of Phish related posting activity when I say: I guess I can’t get enough Phish conversation today. Except for tickets, I’m all set with ticket discussion.
But yeah, how bout them songs? Those guys? That vacuum? Those years? Remember them shows they did? Holy cow were we stoned sometimes. How about that Trey character - what a fine guitarist, not to mention beard maintenance man.
God, I’m getting more psyched by the day that this band will be back. And I forget who said it earlier, … but of COURSE they’re gonna practice old composed parts and write new stuff. It would be so weak and shallow of them to come back PH style.
Speaking of “PH” … will we be in P2H on the evening of 3/6/9?
it is a bit chaotic, but thats what i expected when they decided to come back, i mean how many new members have joined in the past couple weeks? probably ~ 100, many of which have no idea on how we are as a community
we should try to educate before bitching, try to show by example I guess, it is a large undertaking to get 100 diff people all amped on phish to know how we generally organize things, or to not start so many threads about the same topic
With Phish back the board will be different, this board has been around since this second hiatus, this board has yet to have seen it’s first show, though I think the general breakdown of areas are all in place, I can imagine when the first auds come out were going to have a shit ton of new threads popping up all over, maybe we need a sticky on some general guidelines on where to post what? No? Yes? Whatever? all fine by me, just tossing in my .02 since I can’t post my sentiment in the Mod board
I agree Greg. I’m not saying that we should just limit the board to one Phish reunion thread, but starting a thread over every little thought that anyone has regarding Phish is a bit overboard too. I’m not sure how to regulate it, but I agree that something has to be done.
yeah I’ve been quite busy the past few days, and when I get a chance to come here quick, I can’t even start to look at General Phish.
too much to keep up on, and most of the posts are from people who are new. No offense to them, but they’re all starting to mold together, haha. I have a bad memory in the first place.
We’re used to such a small community here. This is all OK though. It’ll work out.
You guys are doing a nice job regardless with all the noobs here, keep up the nice work, I think pholks really see the value and love we have on these boards, really!
Yeah it is crowded, but that is why it is here, to have people talking and posting away. I hope we have this problem for 5 more years at least, that means the reason for this board was started is still there, PHISH…

I’m not sure what I would think if I had been here for a few years with this tight group and suddenly had a shitload of new members blathering on and on. I am continually impressed by how friendly and welcoming this board is. It is a superb representation of all that is great about the Phish community itself. Thank you for being you.

Just realized I could have deleted the second one and no one would have been the wiser. Still learning. I’ll keep it up there as a reminder of our human imperfections unless anyone is offended to the core.
