has anyone been to this festival in the past couple of years?
what is this “sketchiness” that people talk about when talking about this festival?

the “sketchiness” that people talk about, sorry to say, is real. at least from my experience.
2004 was kind of a boiling point. The dead and phish were both on breaks in their summer tours and the wooks invaded, big time. People were getting jumped, mad dosed (the dosee didn’t know it), and, of course, the bisco kids were bisco kids. my g/f has been going practically since they started these fests and it was the worst one she’s been too. The only reason we are considering going this year is because it’s on her b-day and trey and mike are there.
Anyone go last year?
was it any better or more of the same problems?
^ I met this guy who tapes a lot of shows in the Cleveland area last year, and he had just gotten back from All Good.
He said it was a GREAT weekend, except for the rain… which never stopped. But when has rain stopped anyone from having a great time? I have never been to All Good, but have heard from many friends on first-hand experience the sketchiness. This guy said he didn’t see any of it last year.
Well, I am in the process of selling my tickets for Wakarusa and purchasing a Tier II ticket for Allgood before they go up again. I REALLY wanted to go to Wakarusa, but it ain’t happenin’. WV is way closer to where I live, it’s later so I can make some money first, and the lineup is almost as good as 10klf. This lineup is rockin’! What if Cheese signed on? I would shit. I am so glad that I’m going to get to see GRAB at a festival. And ARU? YEAH!! We should definitely meet up, OKPers. What is it like?
the priliminary schedule is now out…Friday and Saturday look fantastic
Yes, and Sunday has no headliner. AND, Cheese has no date set on that day. I really think they are gonna be there. And it makes me happy…
don’t really listening to the disco biscuits, and never seen them live…so i was wondering what bisco kids are all about…i read everywhere about “bisco kids being bisco kids”…what are they all about?
Ask Vern. I don’t really know, for I’ve never seen them or the kids. I’ve never really listened to much either.
Well, early bird tickets are sold out…
And it says Round 3 of Artist Announcements, but they are nowhere to be found…
My heads exploding in suspense…
is anyone else as psyched as i am for this festival?
2 1/2 weeks away, I can’t wait!!!
^ i guess not
is anyone else even going?..hlpngphrndlybrian? guelah?
I am. I just got my ticket in the mail this morning. I am excited! Very excited. I’ve just been away on Phil/GRAB tour for a few days. WOOHOO! I need some money…
HEY! Everyone going, get ahold of me this weekend!!! Justin- 865-660-7451…I’m leaving in 6 hours…You fuckers better be there, and you BETTER give me a call!!! That means you Mcgrupp…Brian… Moma…Dammit. If not, enjoy the shit out of yourselves. Cross fingers for SPECIAL guests with GRAB!!! I’m too excited to sleep…ARGH!!!
Just got back. Enjoyed myself thoroughly. Great Who Are You to open the Trey/Mike/Duo show.
~First post in a long time~
i was looking through old posts the other day and realized you hadnt been around…good to have ya back…
So i got back from All Good on Monday and I have to say that it aboslutely amazing!! I had such a fantastic time.
I got in on thursday night about 7 o’clock so we had plenty of time to get set up before Easy Star All Stars came on. I was really excited for this but i never thought it would be as good as it was. The OK Computer set killed and i am absolutely buying that CD when it comes out next month. I would highly recommend checking it out. (For those that don’t know, Easy All Stars performed their world debut of covering OK Computer by Radiohead) After this set Brothers Past came on to play what was listed as a radiohead/pink floyd themed set. I also thought this was great especially the “Hey You” closer that absolutely blew my mind. The Fog/Haze that came in during this set added even more to the ambience of the music. Afterwards Easy All Stars played their famous Dark Side Set which i had never heard. A reggae version of this album is obviously hard to imagine but it was very cool and needless to say, very original unlike anything I’ve heard.
As far as Friday goes, i didn’t make it in for Madeski (my biggest regret of the weekend), but i made it just in time to see trey play with les for Mr. Oysterhead. Next up was Ween which was argueably my favorite set of the weekend. They rocked that place hard and i was only about 5 yards away from the stage. Stayed in the same place for GRAB which was also 10 times better than either of the other shows I saw during the tour. The Who opener, Drifting, Mud City, Hap-Nappy, Unlce Albert were some of the highlights for me, but i would have to say that my favorite from the set was Becky. I had yet to hear this song, and i thought it was amazing. I didnt stick around for the Bisco set, but from what i heard from people it was really slow and not all that. Not to mention that a friend of mine who was backstage during trey said that the guys from bisco were sooooo fucked up before they went on.
Saturday, the highlight for me was definitely Robert Randolf. I had seen him play with the Allman Brothers before, but never with his band. Black Crowes were cool and it was definitely a treat to see Jimmy Herring come out and play. Besides that, I really liked ALO who I also had never seen before. I won’t bore people with long reviews but if you want to know about any of the sets, just ask.
As far as the scene went, it wasn’t nearly as bad as I anticipated. Sure there was tons of drugs being pushed with absoultely no security presence whatsoever, but i never felt unsafe in any way. I heard a lot about cops on the interstate being dicks but I avoided that by taking back roads from the PA turnpike down to WV. All in all, I met some very cool people, had an absolute blast, and i would definitely go back next year assuming the lineup is as good.
Guelah, sorry i didnt reach out to you, i left on wednesday to pick up some people along the way so i didnt see your post until i returned. Hope you has as good a time as i did.
