Good Morning Oh Kee Pa (Part 1)

I envy those of you who get to sleep until you’re almost late for work. I donat have to leave for work until 8:45, but it’s rare to still be assh7. Piper typically wakes up around 6:30. Now that the morning is my only time with her the early part of the week, I guess I’m glad my day starts so early. Getting 5-6 hrs of sleep while working 12-14 hr days is challenging, but at least I have 4 days to recover

Morning!

Got dinner going in the crock pot. Relaxing on the couch watching Piper play. So glad to be here. Makenzie has a chorus performance at 11:30 and then after school we have to go shopping for things she will need for her dance performance this weekend. They’re doing a benefit show for Manna Food Bank which wil be good practice for the upcoming competition season. I have zero experience with this world and don’t really know what to expect. Why oh why couldn’t she stick with soccer?!
Enjoy the rest of your week all!
Peas

^This gave me a hearty laugh. The “no Pa” was quite a fright. I thought we were down for the count. The prospect of losing this place was pretty darn scary.

I want more time in the morning, but I’m not a morning person and getting out of bed before absolutely necessary is nearly impossible at times. Case in point, this morning is my last Tue/Thurs that is a late start and a little more flexible and my bed was so comfy and cozy, so I stayed in til 9 dozing and lazing. Now I’m chilling with my coffee when I should be out the door. So I’d better get going.

Have a great rest of your Thursday.

I’m exactly that way, with the getting up in teh morning. In fact, I’m sure it’d be a life changer for the better if I could only discipline myself to a) get up early enough to manage my time properly, and b) generally be on time for shit.

Good morning to you dudes. I’m having a decent enough day when I put it in perspective, but work is annoyingly difficult today. Mainly just interruptions, but I wanna rock and roll here, man.

^the thing is, I think when you’re a late type, you’ll never get up early enough to manage your time properly unless you really put your mind to it. This morning, my bladder woke me up around 6. I knew I had to stay up so I got right in the shower, telling myself how im going to be on time for work today (maybe early!) but now here I am on the Pa with my coffee when I should be leaving pretty soon. My thing is, when I have extra time in the a.m. I don’t know what to do with it productively.

Anyway, it IS Friday today! Enjoy, folks.

Morning 'Pa. Been a while.

Missed the big OKP blackout. If funding ever becomes a problem to keep us up and running, by all means count me in. Who is paying the bill here anyway? I’m always happy to kick in, get down, lay low, hang tough, belly up, or whatever it takes.

Been a real ballbuster of a work week. All of the time off that people took in December has come home to roost (damn, am I full of euphemisms today or what), so we were inundated with deadlines to catch back up for the lost time. Plus the long weekend made everyone more nervous about overdue work. Got a taste of the insane. But I’m still standing

Pissed me off that I missed my last lunch meeting with themomadans before he heads back to school next week. Just couldn’t make it work yesterday and today Marie and I are heading to Richmond to visit some friends (Keith, I’m going to try and make this work this time). We’re looking forward to the long car ride together since almost every night this week we also had some family member(s) or another over for dinner, so we haven’t had too much alone time that we weren’t too exhausted to talk with one another.

Have to go capture the cat and throw him in the carrier, something that’s always an ‘experience’ cause he hates the thing so much. But he doesn’t mind the kennel so much because his pen has an indoor and outdoor section that he can move between easily. Who am I kidding, he probably hates it, but it’s safer for him there and he’ll have some interaction with people.

Have a great end to the week, y’all.

Morning Pa!

Ditto.

Yea after Age 1, I had the same problems with my old cats. They wised up to the ‘tuna can opening’ sounds I used to lure them out into the open, and even recognized the sound of the Pet Carrier’s door being opened. They associated those sounds with the Vet, whom they hated and would attack at every given chance.

Ended up just ‘verticalizing’ the Pet Carrier and tossing the cats inside. It got pretty nasty at times but I was sick of adding an extra hr before each Vet Visit just to entice the cats into the Carrier.

TGIF!

Excited to basically watch Tennis all weekend long. LOL. I’ve got the Tennis Channel at home, which shows a few more live matches than just ESPN2. When I’m traveling, ESPN2 is the best I can hope for as the hotels I stay at don’t have the Tennis Channel, and shitty internet speeds to stream.

I also Dl’d a bunch of those Oscar-nominated films, so will be watching a few movies in the next couple of days. Hopefully at least one of them will make it into the “Seen Any Good Movies Lately” thread.

Good morning. After a few horrendous experiences trying to get my cat into the carrier I decided to turn trickster and put the cat in the car first before getting the carrier out of storage. That way I can just collect him without arising suspicion and toss him in the car without hassle. Once he’s in the car he knows he has lost and doesn’t fight getting into the carrier.

I’m paying the bills. Send large American dollars to PO Box Will Breathes Care of ???a

I’ve been doing this new thing where I wake up before 8am…not something crazy for y’all 9-5 kids but it’s a lil different for my lazy 5th year college senior ass

I’m not big on waking up early but I can appreciate this. There’s been a few rare mornings where I get up, decide I don’t want to go to work, call in and then rather than go back to bed, I stay up, get baked, have a coffee and just sit outside and watch the world. Really peaceful at that time of day. I wouldn’t make it habit though.

Ended up seeing as many live concerts by The Slip in the NE as I could,

Wow, I remember The Slip. I saw them in a local bar and liked them (especially the drummer) and then they kinda disappeared. That takes me back.

The “no Pa” was quite a fright. I thought we were down for the count.

I was bummed too…and right when I needed to vent. At the worst, I figured we may lose the board content but I guess it was just about renewing the license or whatever.

After a few horrendous experiences trying to get my cat into the carrier I decided to turn trickster and put the cat in the car first before getting the carrier out of storage.

I’m lucky as I have a fairly complacent cat. She doesn’t like these situations and maybe runs away a little but she eventually just accepts her fate and deals with it. In the end, she still kinda trusts me to take care of her even if she gets nervous. She’s a good kitty.

I’m paying the bills.

Thanks so much for this, sir. Here’s some Johnny Cash kicking the ass out of a U2 song. Enjoy.

^The soul in that voice stirs me like no other.

Saturday greetings OKP.

Morning Pa.

Good Sunday to you.

Morning dudes.

Yesterday was pretty kick-ass. Played two rounds of disc golf. Fixed my tail light that was out (for which I was pulled over and mercifully allowed to drive away despite the discussion about the certain ‘smell’ in my vehicle!) … I had a spare bulb so it was the easiset fix. … Repaired the railing that just needed a different screw. Cleaned all the random crap on the floor near the coffee maker. Filed away all my 2013 bills. Finally decided where that bureau goes. Oiled the engine. Trip to the plaza, for buyin stuff.

Cleaned the two younger kids’ bedroom … which I got in a little trouble for, since they’re supposed to do it. But I got out of said trouble quickly enough, when I made the case for them that it’s beyond reasonable. The mess was too bad. I argued that they need to prevent the disaster, more than they need to learn to manage the disaster. So I bailed 'em out. And this time I barely gave them any speeches about it, I just threw shit out and sorted the rest into categories, left them plenty to do, too.

Alright, today looks like more of the same, minus the disc golf. Perhaps plus the football. Might watch the Manning Brady fight. Tomorrow off too, and no gigs this weekend … I’m just having too much of a good time catching up with my household, here.

I hope you dudes are getting laid and eating bacon all weekend.

A strange weekend as I was over helping mother with what appeared to be panic attacks combined with her being worried about some chest pains. I swear she decided to go to the hospital then changed her mind about a 100 times over the course of Sunday. And I really needed to go out and watch some football and the plans me and a buddy had fell through. Ah well…the Seattle game was pretty darn good.

watching the snow fall outside and I’m actually a little happy about that, for tomorrow i shall SKI. though my plan it to ski light and not need a 7 day recovery period.

so everyone have bacon and leggs over the weekend? HAW HAW. milk is the fastest liquid on the earth. its pasteurized before you see it.

Wow, we’ve got a surprisingly decent February for concerts for me. I’ve got Umphrey’s on the 1st, Billy Joel on the 16th and Paul Simon/Sting on the 26th. Then I’ve got Ratdog on March 6th. And I’m still debating Greensky Bluegrass on Feb 8th but I might get worn out. What fun.

^That sounds like a pretty sweet lineup. Good defense against winter blues. I would love to see Paul Simon.

That is awesome.

Good morning Pa. Enjoying the end of a three day weekend. Going to lunch at Olive Garden because that soup salad breadsticks lunch can’t be beat. Then going to the movies later afternoon. Probably to see Gravity. They brought it back after the Oscar noms and I don’t want to miss out on the opportunity to see it on the big screen.

Happy MLK Day!

Smell, what smell? New car smell? Coffee? Burnt toast?

And a good morning to you, Mr. & Mrs. OKP!

Sunny day with a high temp of ZERO and some snow. Currently negative 12. YAY.

Yeah Devin! What a trip it was. Each time I go, I love NYC even more… damn we ate some good food. So great to see all the OKP family (finally met Kevin! that was pretty epic), ya’all make the Phish world go 'round!

Have a bright, bright, sun shiny day.
