Good Morning Oh Kee Pa (Part 1)

Good morning dudes. ZZ Top documentary (Netflix) hit the spot. Went to bed a little disappointed by it, because I have so many unanswered questions still, but in retrospect I did learn a lot about them, and it was a fun watch. Definitely fun guys to listen to.

Golf plan fell thru, and I’m fine with it … staying home feels great to me, because my job keeps me running to Providence four days a week right now. I am home all day as far as I can see, and I’ve got a to do list goin on and everything.

Sigma Oasis is on, anyone else keep playing the album? I took a break from it and spun SC 12/6/19. Awesome setlist, don’t know what my problem was the first time I heard this show. I had this period of a few days where I’d heard the SC run and was just bummed about it. Then I saw the Mexico set lists and I just became okay with everything. Might be the bud? :problem: I’m back to the album now … I’ve got Fuego on a record player too (mine skips dammit) …

Disc golf at a course I’ve never played tomorrow. In RI too, kind of funny that I’ve never been to this one. Alright let’s like, you know like, let’s all hang in there man.

Good morning OKP. Imma keep it quick because I have to eat some breakfast real soon.

I work a few jobs and have a ton of work to do. I am not as cool with it as Kevin seems to be. I’m grateful to be in a position where I keep my jobs and can do them from home; however a desk job is not my forte. My focus is severely lacking, as is my tolerance for sitting at a computer all day. BUT, with that said, I love the ultra-casual atmosphere of my home workplace. We can work in our pajamas if we want, play whatever music we want, at whatever volume, and pets are allowed! Been good at maintaining a sleep schedule, but it is very very difficult for me to get going, and stay going, on paperwork.

I listened to Sigma Oasis at the listening party. Actually, had a late dinner that night and lost track of time. Didn’t get on there until ~9:20. So missed the title track and Leaves. Came in during Everything’s Right jam section. I thought everything I heard was fantastic; however, Life Beyond a Dream…it just doesn’t work for me as a Phish song. And I can say that about a lot of their newer tunes, but this one is not Phish more than any of the rest. And I actually love the song. And I like it on the album. I’ll have no problem listening to it on SO, because it sounded beautiful. It’s just not a Phish song and it really has no place on a Phish album. I need to get to purchasing already, though. Maybe all my thoughts will change with a few more listens.

Keep on keeping on, all you cool cats and kittens.

  • Ha. Cool cats and kittens. Allow me to make the first specific mention of Joe Exotic on the OKP. Did everyone watch? Fun but not much else. Which is not bad. Not exactly shocking. I understand that there is a lot of variety throughout the lives of the 8 billion people on this planet. An interesting look into one such life.

Good morning. Super nice day here. I like to get the windows open and blow the stink out. I also like to mention the weather because I am very old.

I thought it was fine. I was mostly intrgued by the amount of assholes in one weird quirky area of the world.

In general, I think I am anti-multipart-docuseries.

Some work. The majority should be tightened up to a single film.

A couple episodes of fat could have been trimmed off Tiger King.

^I agree with most of Will’s critique. I felt there were enough interesting people, components and relationships in the story to make it longer than a single movie, but didn’t need to be 8 episodes, or however long it was.

I enjoy documentaries about quirky people doing their thing, but the wild animals living in maladaptive environments, being mistreated, neglected, and, allegedly, killed, kept it from being a source of total escape for me, which is what I needed at the time.

Speaking of quirky assholes, I just read a headline that stated one-third of Americans surveyed in a recent poll believe that a vaccine or cure for Coronavirus exists but is being withheld and almost half believe it was created in a lab. I am obviously reading the wrong news sources. Or maybe I’m just too old and tired to be a conspiracy theorist anymore. It’s not that I’m an authority truster. I think I’m willing to believe anything, but I am not jumping to any crazy conclusions that easily. Is it because it came from China? I didn’t read the article.

Good morning

Time marches on here. Going well. How about by you?

Coronavirus?

Ugh. We’ve got that too.

Well, then. See ya.

^You/your family personally have it? Or just speaking in general terms?

Good morning. How do I transform myself into someone who just gets their shit done instead of procrastinating everything? Is it possible?

Good morning! ^I think you can. Small, attainable goals. No bad self talk. Go for it.

^^ Thankfully no coronavirus for me or my family. I don’t know anyone who had/has coronavirus. I know someone who knows someone or knows someone who knows someone that has coronavirus. I hope everyone gets better or doesn’t get sick at all.

Good morning.

So they delayed summer tour one year. Did you guys hear about that? When are my tickets going to ship?

::waits by mailbox::

More Dinner and a Movie tonight. Mike has a whole box of Mexico 2017 shirts in his garage, so 1/15/17 it is.

Duuuuuudddessssss good morning, like, earlier.

Hey folks…been chilling and still working since WFH is an option for me, thankfully. Been lots of movies, Jordan doc and Dark Souls 3 to pass the time. Enjoyed the Sigma Oasis album…it’s a lot of stuff we’ve heard before but the jams are kind of nice. I miss a good studio jam…too many jambands stop jamming in studio after a while for some reason.

What’s up OKP! I’m  kinda crazy, day job has been tough. Night job has been tough but in the other direction: no night job no mo’.

I can’t tell what the reason is, but the last like, fifteen years or so have seen me less and less musically active at home. I’m usually frustrated by that, conceptually, but not in practice (pun welcome but not intended).

So here I am on a Saturday with very little in my way, but I’ll probably manage to avoid anything resembling songwriting somehow. Well it’s okay, I tell myself. I have to either just accept that I’m less inclined, or change my behavior.

Thing is, with all these evenings at home, I’m not sure why I’m practically avoiding it.

I hope you guys are all safe and sound and managing some sanity.

Speaking of Sanity, they didn’t ask me, but they shoulda squeezed Junta on four sides of vinyl and then used the third record for the bonus cuts. Slight fidelity loss woulda been worth the cooler song layout. Side C Divided Sky | David Bowie

Hey folks. Not been checking in enough. Been swamped at my job but mostly due to a planned accounting overhaul in May that just caused piles of issues…hope to be mostly through it now. Been getting by with tunes, podcasts and video games otherwise and maybe the occasional movie.

Really dig Sigma Oasis. Was glad the band just jammed on an album for a change.

Your Friday Song. Caught the PBS Special and loved this version.

Sup Stevo!

Good Sunday to y’all

I just got thru disc one of an old Phish bootleg CD, back when I had to buy those to get me some of the rarer songs … It’s Phish On The Mountain, 6/16/90. Esther just made me a fan all over again, my god what a fucking song.

Okay hey! Good afternoon morningheads!

Good morning

I missed Dinner and a Movie last night, but it’s on YouTube. Listening now. I think they take it down after a day or two?

Nothing new here

^ video still works. Maybe they keep it up until replacing it with new show the next week?

Good morning

Every time I get into these ruts where I listen to lots of normal music I wonder if I’m losing interest in jambands…then I listen to Phish and get pulled right back. The sick Forbin from that vid! Glorious!

Have been swamped with work but got away “Up North” over the July 4th weekend. Had a nice relaxing birthday there before getting back to it. The world’s gone mad so I’m just hiding out.

Been into the Dead all of a sudden, finally. I don’t know what suddenly caused it. Been collecting their records for years, hoping I’d appreciate them someday.

Well goooood morning to you, may your respective communities be safe from the threat of ourselves today.

Good morning. Happy August.

Hi, Kevin. It’s just the right time to get into the Dead. The Days Between. Jerry Garcia birthday August 1. Death August 9. There’s all kinds of online stuff https://www.dazebetween.com/

And NHL covid playoff spectacular starts today. First game started at noon. I’ll be watching Blackhawks on NBC at 2:00.

Morning Y’all.

Love ya, and hope you’re all well in these weird /wild times. Send some love to our pal Phishinsky, who has the Rona.
