^Please be careful on your bike. A really good friend just got banged up pretty badly during a long ride in the Arizon hillside.
Tough Monday morning here in NJ. But we had very nice weekend. Lots of family love; got to take my grandson to his soccer game on Saturday morning, where I watched him bring the ball down methodically past a couple of defenders and score against the lone goalie. His team lost the game but I couldn’t believe how good he’s gotten under his father’s training.
Sat down on Friday night with our oldest granddaughter who’s messing up in school, and her mother, the one who’s dating the guy we all can’t stand. Their relationship is in distress, and Livy’s schoolwork is just one of the symptoms of a messed-up home life. So I had to get down to a brutally honest level with them both, and made a commitment to both of them if they were willing to work at correcting their behaviors, that Marie and I would help to make sure they’re communicating with one another better.
And yesterday was a beautiful day in NJ and in the afternoon Marie and I picked up some lunch and brought it to the state park where our eldest daughter was married ten years ago to the weekend. We walked through the woods together, saw a family of deer cross our path several yards ahead, and generally has a soul-recharging time walkiing among the Autumn leaves.
Just have to get through this week because from the 31st until the 12th, we’ll be on vacation. Not really going anywhere, just hanging out to winterize the back yard, see David Byrne, visit my brother in NY, and play in the city with an old friend.
Hope everyone has a good day here on the OKP.
