Good Morning Oh Kee Pa (Part 1)

mornin’

just got another goddamned mouse out of my house, thanks to Reba, my killer cat. She didn’t even kill this one though!! It was totally still alive and unhurt when she brought it up by their food dish. They were messin’ around over there for long enough to where I had to go check it out. Sure enough, live mouse sitting there, petrified. I don’t feel bad for him though. I hate mice. He was trying to hide up against the wall, so I used a spatula and an old cup to round him up (which was gross, even for me). Then I threw him outside on the porch and threw the cup down at him with great enough force to knock that bitch out.

then I washed my hands.

one good thing is I felt pretty groggy up until this point. Now I’m awake as can be. Gonna listen to 11.27.98 Weekapaug. Have a good one!

Cats getting to play with or torment mice is the feline equivalent of a human shooting up heroin, I think.

wow!! I never thought about it that way, but…yeah!

Yeah she seems pretty happy with herself still. Loungin in her usual spot, already done with a hard day’s work.

Morning all. Let’s hear it for Hump Day!

Won’t be long now until all the children will be nestled, all snug in their beds. Really looking forward to the holiday break.

Morning everyone @ OKP! Today is Wednesday, and I’m almost not sick anymore…hooray.

^cheers to holiday breaks, hump day, not sick, and the word ‘nestled’! I’m having a decent day so far, although my agenda looks like certain doom. Impossible, said the young padawan learner.

So good morning all ye dudes & make merry, for there’s only one today!

So what if that sounds ghey!

Yah, maybe then we’ll eat some hay

down by the bay

I just may!

Good morning Pa!!

Remember K-dawg, only Sith’s deal with absolutes…

I am at work and my boss keeps coming over here when I have OKP up. Im working on running some software updates for a piece of banking software, but who says I can’t type on here while I wait for progress on this other system? Geez…I should start getting paid salary just to look at the OKP all day…oh wait…that’s what I do now.

i’m not much of a morning person, but good morning.

funny story about the mouse, Hank. i too have to try and rescue small animals from the jaws of death on a regular basis around here. there’s been several mice (too many to count), a handful of chipmunks (those fuckers bite) and just a few days ago, a relatively large robin. when there’s no good vermin to be found, my cat brings in worms and cicadas. her goal is the squirrel that lives in the tree in my front yard, i know it.

^she must be a young cat since mature cats learn relatively soon that squirrels are not to be triffled with. Most are much too fast for housecats to nab, and if cornered can be very vicious.

yeah she’s pretty young. she’ll never get near that squirrel, but she tries. and he taunts her. it’s a game. they have an agreement.

^^My house cat once brought a squirrel home. I saw her doing that thing cats do where they let the animal struggle so they can bat at it and play for a while. I went outside and she promptly picked it up in her mouth and ran to my porch. I tried to get her to drop it but it was no use. She ate like half of the squirrel’s insides and left its carcass on the walkway through my yard. At this point, I agree that mouse house cats are too slow for squirrels…but she got that one some how. Maybe it was injured or something…

Living on a 2nd floor apartment, my cats are missing out on all the fun.

Growing up we had an indoor/outdoor cat that was great with mice and birds. I miss Tigger!

cries

^dry those eyes cause he’s in a better place where he can catch, play with and eat all the mice and birds he wants. and then they all come back to life for him to do it all over again.

our cat has the fricken life. she’s a small, almost 14 year old red tabby, who pretty much comes and goes as she pleases. although she’s given up hunting pretty much, we still get the obligatory corpse as a gift at our back door every once in a great while. but right now, the birds we feed laugh at her as they come for seed, and she seems mostly disinterested, and lears back at them as she comes in for all the food she could possibly want.

at night, now, because it’s colder outside, she falls asleep with me on my side of the couch at night, and follows me around at times, just waiting for me to sit somewhere for her to nuzzle up to. what a life.

^My mom has two indoor cats. Milo and Pandy.

That’s all I have to say about that.

GOOD MORNING YOU PA’STERS!!!

k.

Howdy doody!!

bye

Cats do, in fact, Bill, have possibly the greatest life of any being on the planet.

^Except for me!!

I’m outta here, hitting the road for the next several hours. Gonna crank some tunes that are NOT modern country, which has been eroding my pleasure center since I arrived around 9. Gonna get a coffee and an egg & cheese. Gonna have lunch with my bride, in the ever-improving home of our ever-changing, ever-living lives and then come back here with a fresh sense of perspective and hopefully, a fresh perspective on sense.

Happy Fricken Friday!

Raining like a mofo in NJ. You all right up there Sloth? Some of those north Joisey rivers flood out easily with even the slightest extra rain.

Am in my company office today, chillin with a bagel and a cup o joe and listening to the soundtrack music from the Little Rascals. Part of the research I have to begin doing for the podcast deal I’m going to get into in January. Kind of fun just to listen to this stuff. Hope the job doesn’t turn this sour on me.

Anyway, have a great weekend my friends. We’re getting our tree tomorrow and decorating in Sunday. Tomorrow night the kids come over for this month’s ‘game night’. We bought a new game called ‘Fact or Crap’ to play. It’s kind of simple where trivia statements are read and everyone has to vote whether it’s true or not. We wanted something that some of the gkids could also join in, and they can surely guess the answers as well as any of us. Hmmmmm, maybe it’s time for another installment of UIF.

Good morning. It is indeed Friday and we are just under two weeks out from Christmas. I hope everyone is having a great day. ^ Fone, Jamie and I are unsure about getting a tree. This is our first Christmas together as husband and wife. We are going to Texas the 23rd through the 28th. (At the age of 31, this will be my first Christmas away from home. ::cries::slight_smile: Our housing situation right now is not everything we want it to be. I vote that we skip the tree this year, and all the other decorations, and wait until next year when we will hopefully be living somewhere awesome. It will be our first Christmas together in our first real house. (And it won’t be in Texas.) Sounds much better for a big tree and all the Christmas decorating labor.
^ Hosemasterflex, modern country music also harshes my life buzz. The majority of it is completely unlistenable. Music, lyrics…all of it. And the whole social dynamic of country music is something that is lost on me for the most part.
Today is the last regular class day for the semester. My Theories of Personality class ended on Wednesday. I turned in my final paper and did my group presentation. (Both were great. Finishing that 5-7 page paper was a huge boost for me Wednesday afternoon before class.) I finished the final paper for Child Growth and Development yesterday. I’ll turn that in this morning. There is an exam for each class next week and then it’s colege winter break for my 31 year old brain. I signed up for Adolescent Development next semester. I should take something else, at least one other class, but I have credit for all the other psychology classes that this community college offers.
So everyone enjoy your Friday and your weekend.

Oh yeah, my cat has never killed anything that I know of. She is small, but she is so fat. She is pretty much round. She goes after squirrels outside, but they make it to a tree before she gets to them. One day this past summer she actually jumped up five feet and latched onto the tree. I’m sure she initially thought that she was going all the way up after the squirrel, but she just hung there for a couple minutes and then dropped to the ground. She does take care of bugs in the house. Watching her meow at a housefly and track its movements until it comes within range is hgihly entertaining.

I’m 31. I go to commmunity college. I love my fat cat.

“She is pretty much round.”

Haha! I had a vet appointment the other day for checkups. They told me my one cat needs to lose about 4 pounds. To get down to 16.

And my other cat has bladder stones and needs surgery next Tuesday. That makes me sad.
