well I’m pretty hungover. Pulls of Jim Beam and hot knives somehow got mixed in with the keg activities last night. this is day 3 with the keg. It’s probably about half way gone, but I could be slightly wrong either way. We’ve made back 20 bucks on it, so that’s cool.
Don’t have anything to do, pretty much until Monday. Probably do some Xmas shopping.
I probably need to get another job. I quit the whole janitor side project over a month ago, and although I like the insane amount of free time I have now, I think I need to work a bit more than 25 hours per week. Maybe I can find a cool Saturday-Sunday job somewhere…after New Year’s.
The Airing of Grievances went well and nobody could pin me in the Feats of Strength. Overall, a success.

Well, I quit smoking. It sucked. I’ve been smoking since I was like 14. Im 22 now. That equals a long time to be crushing my lungs with cancer-satan-death-sticks. Today will be the 11th whole day without a cigarette and I’m going strong. I can’t stop coughing though, and I don’t know how long it’s going to last. I hope my lungs are like fixing themselves somewhat…but I’m sure I’ve done irreversible damage to them. Wish me luck OKP. and good morning to all of you great folks. TGIF!!!
Congratulations. I bet with each day that progresses not only will it get easier, you will start to feel better and better. The coughing will eventually go away.
How much were you smoking up until you quit? Pack a day? 1/2 pack a day? The most I did was about 1/2 pack a day.

Good morning just finished my last final of the semester, am jammin to some phish and going home tonight for vacation! Life is gooood.
^^^^The most I ever did was like a half pack or a little more. I graduated college a year ago this month, and I always promised myself I’d quit when I hit the real world. Since I graduated, I’ve liked smoking less and less because nobody smokes at my job and I feel gross being the only guy going outside and freezing his ass of just to come back smelling bad. So recently I’ve been down to < 5 a day. So, since I smoked so few anymore, I figured it was time to kick the habit.
^easier said than done, but I’ve been nicotine free for 11 days and haven’t cheated yet…

This is the rationale that made me stop in 1989 after smoking for twenty years. That was the period when offices were just beginning to initiate the no inside moking policy to coordinate with what the government offices were doing.
While I could always smoke at my desk, I never thought about smoking, I just smoked. When I would have to go down and stand under the overhang outside of the front door in all kinds of weather, it just wasn’t worth it anymore.
One day I woke up and just never reached for a cigarette again. Little withdrawal, and never had a backslide. Even smoking other things never tempted me to try cigarettes again.
Hey good morning everyone. Find myself experiencing mood swings like crazy these days, but am otherwise generally happy to be alive. That’s especially true after a holiday lunch yesterday with some old co-workers, one of whom, at age 49, had a heart transplant over the past nine months. Kind of shook me up as mortality showed up and kicked me firmly in the arse.
But it’s snowing slightly here in central NJ, and I’m into it. It’s gonna cause lots of delays going home tonight, but the system is loaded with 8/28/93 from the Greek Theater, Berkely, so I don’t care how long it takes.
About to parttake in the company’s holiday lunch buffet here at the office, so it’s not a bad work day either. Stay happy everyone.
^To be honest I experienced little withdrawal…other than some minor irritability. But i just can’t stop hacking. In fact, I cough much more now that I quit than I ever did while smoking. I hope it goes away…

If it goes on for more than a month, I’d get a checkup because it may be from some other cause.
Good Morning OKP. It’s the Monday before Christmas and I feel like I’m the only guy at the office today. When I got here the lights were off on my whole hall…which has never happened before. Most people took vacation for this whole week. I have only worked here for 6 months, so I don’t have enough vacation to do that…so i’m here. I just found out that I’m getting a dog for Christmas from my girlfriend. I previously have not been a big dog fan, but I know I’ll love her anyway. I’m actually really excited. This should be a good week.

I did an internship in Montana my January Term during my senior year and the first day there it was -30 actual temp. It was insane.
