Morning, Pa.
Woke up this morning…headache 
Lots to do this week. At least shopping is done for everybody but Makenzie, so that’s a load off my mind. Going to my neighborhood music store after work to get her a mic, stand, and possibly a small amp so she can rock the house. She LOVES to sing and has a nice voice, so I’m trying to encourage it. Hopefully she uses it for good and not for pop 
Grabbing the bull by the horns and meeting with a personal trainer this week. I’ve been overweight for about a decade now and enough is enough. I know exactly what to do as I was an athelete growing up, but for some reason, I lack the motivation and the will power to stick with it on my own. I promised Holt back in October that I would lose 30 pounds by April or May when we want to try and get pregnant, but instead, I’ve gained 10. So now I’m going to drop hundreds of dollars for someone to whip my ass in gear. I’m planning on doing that for a couple of months and hopefully by then, I’ll be willing to do it on my own. I need to be healthy for my family and for myself. Hopefully I will get it right this time.

I have been working out too, not so much for total weight loss, but for a better overall looking and feeling body. I am getting old and I still like to play, so getting into it now will help!!! My wife hits the gym 2-3 times per week.

in great spirits today. christmas spirits! not the alcohol kind. not the zombie kind neither. my little red jetta’s like a fuckin’ sleigh right now, full of gifts. can’t wait. i have a few particularly exciting gifts to give, and that always makes christmas sound like a very good idea.
our tree is rocking right now, after some technical difficulties … actually would love to chronicle what has been an epic period of my life since about Thursday but I have work to do … suffice to say my home is very happy atm, and i feel like the happy transformed scrooge right about now. epic weekend w/gifts, shopping, disc golf, lots and lots of family time.
hope you’re all having merry times about now in your lives too ~ life is full o’ nothing but people, let’s celebrate one another. but maybe with fewer corny statements like that one.

Something weird is happening to the sky here in Santa Monica today. The blue part is all gray looking and there’s these drops of water coming out of it… 
Hope it fixes itself soon before someone gets wet. I think the gray stuff is making it hard for the sun to do its job.
Don’t think I’m gonna do much of anything this week. People have pretty much stopped working for that jesus holiday, which is fine by me. Just gonna do my best to stay away from everyone and avoid their winter germs. 
Anyways… maybe I’ll whip up a batch of cannabis infused olive-oil this morning.

Morning all. Woke up with my 4 yr old son (3 weeks until 5 yr old) bouncing on me. Funny. I thought he had school today. So my day off will be a little different than planned. I’m so over x-mas! Between b-days, NY runs, presents, nutrients, crazy electric bills, and seasonal workload increases. I think the mob is going to have to float me through the next few weeks.
Dooj. Use hemp seed oil for the infusion. It’s more soluble. They go together like peanut butter and er…peanuts.
^Think so? I’ve never used hempseed oil before, but it makes sense. I’ve always heard that peanut oil works great, but olive oil is a lot healthier…
I’ve heard hempseed oil is difficult to fry with. I usually decarboxylate the plant material in the oven for about 15 minutes, then fry it up in enough oil to cover it for about 20-30 minutes on a low heat before adding some water and simmering for a few hours. Then I strain it all out, stick it in the freezer 'til the fat solidifies and separate out the fat from the water.
If I use hempseed oil, should I skip the frying step and go straight to water/oil mix? Is it easier to burn the hempseed oil? How does it taste?

got up a little earlier than usual this morning to catch a little of the lunar eclipse of the full moon. caught it just as it was coming out of peaking. clear, cold night, so it was very impressive. definitely worth a little less sleep.
btw, do those of you who trip, still use the term “peaking”? just wondering if the jargon has changed in forty years.

This week is dragging by, just as all short weeks do, but its all good.
Morning rest of Pa
Woke up and got the shower ready and was about to fire up the coffee pot when I realized I should just work from home today. All of my experiments in the lab are mostly shut down because of all the holiday/phish stuff coming up so there’s no reason for me to drive all the way out there. So I turned off the shower and got back in bed. It was sweet.
^Damn am I jealous of that.
Right now all I have to look forward to is an 1130 headbanging meeting with people who will be nothing but antagonistic to my requests. But behind me I have a light colonel and a full colonel ordering me into the breech.
Into the valley of death rode the six hundred, minus five hundred and ninety-nine.
It’s a good thing, at this point in my life, I could really give a crap about any of this, ESPECIALLY, with Phish less than two weeks away.

Dude at the bar last night where my Wife and I frequent for sporting events, was one of those people that wanted everyone to know he was the opposite of them. Irked me, then he told me to sit and turn around 'Douche bag"… Yeah he called me a douche bag for cheering for my team and liking the fact that Favre was playing. I lit into that asshole for 2 minutes straight. I never swore, never called him a name, but let him know it is not smart to talk crap to someone half your age in a bar where I was with my Wife…
Total buzz kill for the night… Then the Vikes got roasted…
