Good Morning Oh Kee Pa (Part 1)

The City is awesome to visit, but I’m with Eddie Edward Ed. I don’t think I would like the business of New York on a daily basis.

My favorite “Big City” is Chicago by far! It is much cleaner and safer and the layout is much more appealing.

Morning Pa!

Wednesday already and the week is actually picking up pace now!

I’m excited for a “normal” weekend. The holidays are so crazy and time consuming, ready to chill with good friends and watch lots of football.

Bitches be screaming already in the office, high pitched whaling talk is like fingernails on a chalkboard right now. FUCKING SHUT UP!!!

I’ll be the first to say that Maze, my cat was like a child and we treated him with so much love. It has teared me up more than I ever thought it would… I cannot express how much I miss him. Thanks!

Mornin all

Another freezing day here and it is taking its toll on us! Need some warmth!!!

Be well and thank you all for the kind pet/family words, it means a lot!!!

Loves all around~~

i think i’ll take it easy, eat some soup, lay on the couch and watch movies all day.

everybody have a good one

MORNING! 2011 is looking me right in the face.

G’morning Pa. I’m really struggling to get back into the swing of things this week. Those past two weeks off really made me realize just how much I truly enjoy doing nothing. You hear about all these retirees now who don’t ever want to retire. Everyone seems to want to keep working until the day they die. I was watching a news story on this last night, and there are all these old guys who don’t need the money, but just want to feel needed. It kind of makes me sad and wonder how I will feel at this age, but right now if you offered me enough to get by every year without ever having to work again, I would take you up on that with no hesitation whatsoever. It’s not that I don’t “like” my job or don’t want to contribute to society or any of that…it’s just that I truly enjoy doing nothing.

Anyway, I don’t know if I said this, but Happy New Years OKP.

Good mornin!

I am right there with ya, goldenroad! I’ve run my own business for a decade and I am absolutely ready to retire and do nothing. I would happily not work another day in my life. People say “do what you love”. Well… I love doing nothing!

Glad the Pa peeps had good times in NYC! I’m definitely not a NYC man in any sense-- at all. My parents had a place on Central Park South when I was growing up, so I was there quite a lot. And I was there even more when I was going to school in Syracuse. So, I can say pretty safely that it is not the city for me. It’s funny how different big cities can be-- as I have no problem living in L.A (well, in Santa Monica, at least)-- but the East Coast intensity or “hardcoreness” or whatever you want to call it (rudeness, basically ) wears me down super quickly. All the pushing and shouting and hustling and the inability to see the sky make it hard for me to even visit nowadays. And everything’s so gray and dirty…

I prefer a little color in my cities.

Have a good one peeps… the weekend will be here before we know it!

If Everclear likes it, its OK by me.

good morning ya’all!!! and HAPPY (belated) NEW YEARS!!! been tough getting back to the daily routine here, only today am I starting to feel normal again (that term is used loosely)

the last week of andrea and I traveling, partying, spending time with many of my closest friends, seeing so many OKP peeps that are included in that, going to 3 of my favorite Phish shows of all time, seeing Prince, loving the city of New York… it really has recharged my battery and soul… i feel quite fortunate to have all that i do, even though I bitch from time to time, and i truly believe 2011 is going to be a GREAT year!!!

i hope it’s starting out nicely for you all! have a great wednesday!

Right there with you, Goldenroad. I’ve been unemployed since June and it’s hard to say it’s been that bad. The only downside was I am searching for a job which means I had to quit weed for a while so I can pass a drug test if I ever need one. But man, it’s hard to motivate myself to do heavy job search aside from applying to some stuff online every week. It’s discouraging enough when you do an interview and don’t get the job but even worse when you don’t exactly want a job because you enjoy not working so much. Anyway, that’s my goal in life…no more work…I save my money like a fiend.

Nice!! That is quite a show right there. We finally saw him for the first time in '09 and can’t wait to see him again.

Brad…you saw that Prince show in NY? Was it amazing? I need to see Prince again…hopefully a Minnesota show is in the works at least…I could justify that journey.

And you would have a place to stay for free!

Prince rocks faces! I would definitely see him given the chance.

Morning, pa!

Feeling fantastic the past day or 2!! Previously, I was feeling so run down ALL the time. I was having some sort of headache at some point of almost everyday for several months. I couldn’t control my appetite and hated how I felt and although I’m generally a pretty happy person (believe it or not) all that was starting to depress me.

So after a couple of weeks of exercising and eating right, I already feel like a new woman. Earlier in the week I was feeling horrible about all the food I’m having to eat, but after some careful planning each night before bed, it’s not so bad. Granted, I don’t enjoy eating a whole can of garbanzo beans in one sitting, but it’s 10 minutes of choking it down and then I’m on with my day.

Yesterday was seriously the best I have felt in probably a year or more! The change has been dramatic and I’m so glad I’m doing this for myself. I realized on the way to work yesterday that I haven’t had any sort of headache in almost 2 weeks!! That’s huge because I was waking up with one almost everyday the past few weeks. It would persist as a dull ache most of the day and into the evening. It was really obnoxious. Now, I feel great and I can’t wait for my exterior to catch up with my interior!

So, the moral for today: make that change you’ve been pondering. Even if it will turn your life upside down, don’t be afraid to do it!! The harder the task, the greater the reward. The longer you put it off, the longer you avoid bliss

Have a great day, Pa!!

WAY TO GO NONNIE!!! (can’t believe i’ve never used that before)

Stick with it Nonnie, you’re doing great!! WHEN ARE YOU GUYS COMING TO MICHIGAN?!?!?!

Morning Pa!

Thursday is here!

Have to have a small surgical procedure done this afternoon, there is a small “bump” on my neck and the doctor says it has to go, nothing too serious I hope.

Be well peeps

This is the first five-day work week I’ve put in in almost a month. Wait, it’s not Friday yet? Fuck.

Nonnie, you rock it, keep up the great efforts and I hope it all goes well!!!

Brett!!! - Positive vibes your way, good luck!

Hi Doug!

I have to say, I am pumped to get to the warm climate for a few days!

Mornin!!

Be well today and smile at someone just because!!!

Loves to all!

Didn’t get back from MD last night until almost 8, so I decided to work from home today to get some focused work completed. Besides, this is a much more conducive environment for me to work in. Have decent coffee, a great view, some gentle classical music playing behind me, and the cat sleeping securely beneath my chair.

Life is good today, albeit cold here in the NE. Great day to be at home and still get things done.

yes! prince is fanfeckintastic live… i’ve seen him a couple times and he never disappoints. he’s back to playing all the tunes you wanna hear, you name it, he played it. his band is full of the best musicians in the world and he is one of the best himself, and a helluva performer/frontman. so yeah, 4 nights in a row at MSG really set the bar high for a run of shows

good morning ya’all!! lots of work to do today, big couple weeks coming up here for me with the band I’m working for and the 4th Annual Janis Joplin tribute in about two weeks. crunch time!!

^ bill, it was so great to see you in NYC, and to meet marie finally! she’s so nice, as expected i suppose!

awesome to see A LOT of OKP peeps actually… doug, pei, drew, judson, keith, marianne, and many, many more! love you guys!

have a great thursday!

:open_mouth: Daaamn, boy. That’s some nice digs.

As far as comparing NYC to Santa Monica… c’mon. That’s apples and oranges, big time. But I know that what you’re saying is that you wouldn’t wanna live in NYC. Me neither. 'Course, I don’t really agree with Brett about Chicago; I think I would take NYC over Chicago just because it has more personality and history to it, plus I think the public transit is better, and Manhattan is very easy to navigate for a city of that enormous size. I dunno, I’ll be fine in Conway, NH or Eagle River, AK; something cold and fairly remote, y’know? Eagle River is the dream one though. God that would be sweet…
