Afternoon people. Couldn’t say good morning because the network weenies have shut down my OKP access. Won’t be signing on anymore during business hours and dat sux bigtime. Then again, I won’t be working on that network too much longer, so I’m not gonna get excited about it.
Off to the dentist shortly, just stopped home to change and give the choppers a good brushing before I show up. Just a quarterly cleaning and checkup, no major issues this visit ::knocks on wood::
Just got offered a ticket to Further at RCMH in March, and I think I’m gonna pick up on it. Juat have to make sure the calender is clear.

They blocked all forums, except, believe it or not, facebook. That’s because many DoD organizations have their own facebook pages, and they want you to have access to those.
Since the wikileaks episodes, the govt has become very reactionary when it comes to removing capabilities from enterprise computer systems. USB ports on all our networked computers are disabled and only a select few have write capabilities to their CD drives. They are spending hundreds of millions at the moment to install host based security systems everywhere they can.
In the meantime, happy hump day, OKP, and I’ll check back with youse later today.

My first job had a bunch of blocks on a ton of sites like ESPN and stuff to keep folks from wandering…they never seemed to catch on to the OKP though which was nice. Plus the block would randomly go down at least a couple times a week and sometimes for an entire week at once so it was a free-for-all of distraction during those periods.
And I’d like to say how thrilled and yet disappointed I am at the Peanut-Butter Snickers. I used to buy these things ten at a time when they brought them out in the mid 90’s. Then they went away and I was sad. Now they’re back and it’s awesome again but they’re now in this stupid “two squares” form which is maybe 2/3 the amount of food you would get from a regular Snickers bar. Is it that hard to just make a damn Snickers bar with peanut butter in it? I was annoyed I even sent Snickers a nasty e-mail about it. Kind of like how I still occasionally send TGIFridays an e-mail about how pissed I am that they got rid of their pizza quesadillas even though it happened like ten years ago. Sigh…
I still have the letter I got back from channel 11 explaining why they’d stopped airing ‘Incredible Hulk’ reruns.
I should have totally written to Taco Bell about the discontinuation of the “Wild Sauce”, which was like, a little cup of real hot salsa you could get for I think ten cents.
And I’ll never forgive Volcano Wings for going out of business.
I wrote to Doritos when they changed their “Taco” Dorito flavor recipe. Every time I am in a store I walk through the chip aisle to see if they brought them back. Nope. I should write again.

Morning Pa. Driving down to MD again today for a bunch of meetings. My car is all tuned up and ready to make these weekly trips. Have to bring a portable radio with me today, but this weekend my new audio system gets installed, so I’ll be back going down the road feelin’ Reba, and Hood, and YEM and a host of shows I haven’t yet downloaded. Ah, the little pleasures so taken for granted.
Before this current wave of cold air came through the NE, this past Monday, when the temps were in the mid 40’s and the snow pack that’s covered the ground since Christmas began to recede, I enjoyed the distinctive smell of the earth in the air when I left the house that morning. The aroma of Spring was in the air for a while, and herald of warmer weather to come. Was great way to start off the week.
