Good Morning Oh Kee Pa (Part 1)

welcome to the northeast Cari. Headed to Brattleboro, right? All will be fine as soon as you get in and settle dowm. It’s a great area of the country.

Son-in-law still awaiting test results. I tend to think he may be passing a kidney stone rather than it being his appendix. My daughter went to stay with him while I’m watching the gkids, who either just got home from kindergarten or decided to skip school altogether to complete a project that was due today.

So I’m home trying to work remotely while answering millions of questions when I’m not making grilled chees for lunch or getting the little one something to drink. Just an odd day all around.

Heyyyyy… I did the same thing. Maybe we were looking at the SAME lightning.

::cues soft music::

That really sucks that you got surrounded by those people. I was over on the right side, which is where I and most of the people I know always stand, and it was chill as always over there. Usually it sucks over by the bar kinda. But I got up really really close for the second set, so I got to watch Mike work that fretboard, and man is he acrobatic. But it’s a in a jerky, unusual, Mike sorta way.

I honestly do believe that he is one of the best bass players out there, and he is certainly my favorite. His bass lines are so slick and full sounding, and his tone is just unbelievable. I was outside smoking a cigarette, and the railing was rumbling whenever Mike would play notes. Fucking awesome.

Morning 'Pa. Been spoiled by many days off from work, so I’m not looking forward to schleppin my ass in today. Have to pick out some rousing tunes to listen to while I drive in. Know just the song/show that I’d like to hear as well, the YEM from the June 94 Red Rocks show. Always kicks my butt in all the right ways.

Like to get some time to write about what a great time we had with my college friends this past weekend. I really am a fortunate one to have so many wonderful old and new friends, the bonds of which are based in the love of music. It’s just so astounding to me.

And I believe I will be bringing one of those old friends with me to one, or both, of the PNC shows. An idea that just seemed so automatic after spending time with him this past weekend at the David Bromberg concert. Yes, a lucky man, for sure.

Have a great Tuesday!

Big day for this guy. About to meet with my attorney and hopefully by the end of today this agreement will be solidified. While it isn’t the end of the process, it will certainly be a huge piece of worry that will be behind me. I just hope it goes well and that further “negotiations” aren’t needed. Wish me luck!

^ best of luck today, Doug! i hope it all goes well and some weight will be lifted off them shoulders

good morning! a blustery rainy day here in Minneapolis… gonna get my taxes done this morning… band rehearsal tonight.

i hope you’re all doing well! i say it every time i’m in here and i’ll say it again… I miss this thread

have a great day, ya’all!

Good luck Doug! Try not to get rattled by everything.

My mom is in town this week and am having a nice time with her. We were going to go to SoCal but the weather isn’t too good and then we thought the Grand Canyon but it’s snowing up in Flagstaff, so looks like we’ll hang in Vegas. I’m trying to get her to see Santana… we’ll see how that goes!

Well, it wasn’t bad, but things definitely aren’t over. Close probably, but not over.

^Hang in there, Doug! Close to over is better than nothin!

Update: we officially have an agreement. Two weeks from today she will go to court and it will be all said and done. All that will be left will be to sell the house. This is seriously a huge relief.

^ you deserve some relief Doug. In two weeks, a corner will be turned and you can carry on. You might have a minor reaction on that day, but it’s only nostalgia related, not to worry about those. Little sadnesses over the things we lose are a good indicator of your connection to life.

Lousy Smarch weather!

Morning.

Tired.

Smarch sucks.

Wish I was back on the beach.

Jet laggggggggggggg.

What?

oh yah…

First night waking up at my parents for the week as they are on vacation.

The Duke is a bed hog.

Too funny

Morning!

So hard to stay focused on work when there’s a festival on the horizon! We’re leaving in the morning for Live Oak, FL and the Spirit of Suwannee Music Park for Springfest, w00t. Can’t friggin wait. Haven’t packed the first thing or prepped any food, so we’re going completely improv. Trying to talk Holt into driving his truck so we’ll have more room and hopefully he’s caved by now  Man, I just realized that this is the only weekend we’ll get to spend together all summer because he’ll be working all the others. That kinda sucks, but at least I will have the most beautiful man in the park dancing next to me for the next 4 days. I’m so ready to get outta here and be in the festival environment. We’re going with my daughter’s best friend and her family. They’re great people and I’m glad Makenzie will have her “sister” to spend the weekend with. Lots to do tonight. If I can just get out of this damn office, I’ll be ecstatic.

Have a great day you’s guys.
::hugs::

^Have a great time Ollie, Grab those memory makers with gusto.

^^^Thanks Brett. You always make my hump day better.

Finally received some positive news from my company yesterday as my current work begins to wind down to an end in July. There’s a good chance I’ll be re-assigned to a new task in a new location at a little greater distance from where I work now, but in a much better driving direction (mostly back rural roads).

I’ve been working under the same directorate manager for the past 26 years and he’s always taken care of me when the work has ebbed and flowed. We’ve always been loyal to one another over the years, and it’s great to know he’s still watching out for me.

Have a great Thursday ohkeepeople.

Good morning.

Fesssssstivaaaaaaal!

That is all

^^No prob Bill.

^Have fun Nonnie!!! Tell that Holt guy hello for me

Well, it’s cold and sunny. Which is better than mild and cloudy.

Cold streak gonna continue through next week, but it’s gonna be nice and sunny the whole time, so that’s cool.

Gonna go read to Val’s class at a library on Saturday.

It’s my mom’s birthday today, HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!! She’s going through some shit right now, so I’m taking her out to lunch today and then we’re taking her and her friend out this weekend. Love that woman.

Morning Pa

It fucking snowed overnight.

Barely. but still.

Butt still.

Butt oven.

Dutch oven.

Good morning … eating a western egg sammich from Subway right now. My days of Dunkin Donuts sandwiches may have just come to an abrupt end.

That is all.
